Prof. Adesuyi Ajayi MD, Ph.D
Adesuyi Ajayi MD, PhD is an alumnus both of the University of Ife (OAUIFE) and the University of Glasgow, Scotland. He did further clinical and research training and practice at the Queens Medical Center University of Nottingham, UK and the Medical University of South Carolina , Charleston SC.
He is a physician- scientist and cardiologist, who has served as professor and Head of Medicine and pharmacology in Nigeria OAUIFE/ OAUTHC, in the USA ; Adjunct professor at Baylor College of Medicine, Professor of Biomedical sciences at Chicago State University , Senior Scientist and Visiting professor NIH funded Center for Cardiovascular diseases of Texas Southern University and the Professor. Ross University Medical school, Dominica among others.
He also pivots into Biotechnology in developing oncology, oxygen carrying and antiviral drugs.
Academic accomplishments include :.
1.Contrubution to development of new life saving drugs in cardiovascular medicine ( _ACEI & LMWH_ )., reducing global and local intra hospital Nigerian cardiac and Renal deaths.
2 Discovery of Nitric oxide releasing ( viagra like ) properties of Nigerian _Burantashi_ a known aphrodisiac
3 understanding how androgen receptor and male gender promote cardiac thrombosis and deaths from Myocardial infarction.
4 Mechanisms of itching to chloroquine and other medical conditions contribution – discovery of chloroquine- opiate receptors link.
5 Randomized Control Trials in collaboration establishing efficacy of ivermectin against SARS – Cov 2 during Covid 19 with proven life saving curative evidence.
