Recently I was wondering how President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has suddenly remembered Makkah and Madinah. This is after 3 years and some months of unaccountable leadership, looting and missgovernance. This curiosity led me into some research to have some Islamic knowledge on what the Quran says about such behaviour.
My conclusion based on the Quran is that this is no spiritual journey, it is a funny, desperate political photoshoot circus around the holy cities, staged to deceive Northern Muslims to support his failed government and vote for him in 2027. Especially after he disappointed even those who defended his divisive Muslim-Muslim ticket.
From smiling in front of Kaaba to posing for videographers in Madinah, the entire exercise is political manipulation.
Unfortunately for him Northerners believe that a true and faithful Muslim will be a good person guided by Allah. True and faithful Muslims don’t steal mandates and rig elections, because Allah is not the author of criminality.
Since the stolen mandate in 2023 hidden under the name of “glitch”, he has not been to Makkah. From 2024 to 2025, he did not go. He was busy looting after a stolen mandate. Now that Northern Nigeria has rejected him and it is obvious he will fail in 2027, he has returned with cameras to fake piety. This is fake Makkah.
But no true and faithful Muslim will behave like that. A true and faithful Muslim will not fake Christian bishops to deceive people people for an election when he believes in Allah.
You cannot hire fake bishops to lie to the nation and claim you are faithful. Islam condemns deception.
Quran 16:105 says “It is only those who do not believe in the verses of Allah who invent falsehood, and it is those who are the liars.”
Quran 2:42 also said “And do not mix the truth with falsehood or conceal the truth while you know (it).”
A true and faithful Muslim will not steal election and call it glitch, because true and faithful Muslims know power is from Allah and not by stolen mandate.
Power belongs to Allah to give, not to INEC servers to manipulate.
Quran 3:26 said “Say, O Allah, Owner of Sovereignty, You give sovereignty to whom You will and You take sovereignty away from whom You will.”
Also, Quran 42:42 said “The cause is only against the ones who wrong the people and tyrannize upon the earth without right.”
A true and faithful Muslim does not forge certificate and lie to justify criminality.
Forgery is fraud, and fraud is haram. This is why Quran 16:116 said “And do not say about what your tongues assert of untruth, ‘This is lawful and this is unlawful,’ to invent falsehood about Allah. Indeed, those who invent falsehood about Allah will not succeed.”
A true and faithful Muslim will not be nepotic, wickedly divisive and create hatred amongst people of the same nation. In Quran 49:13 it says “O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you.”
Also, Quran 49:10 said “The believers are but brothers, so make settlement between your brothers. And fear Allah that you may receive mercy.”
A true and faithful Muslim will not be buying jets and cars with people’s resources when millions of children are out of school and millions are dying of hunger. That is why Islam condemns extravagance while the people starve. It is not Islam at all.
In Quran 7:31, the holy book says “And eat and drink, but be not excessive. Indeed, He likes not those who commit excess.”
Quran 17:26-27 said “And give the relative his right, and (also) the poor and the traveler, and do not spend wastefully. Indeed, the wasteful are brothers of the devils.”
A true and faithful Muslim will not spend billions building a house for his vice when millions of poor people are abandoned by the same government in IDP camps. Islam condemns it. This is why Quran 2:177 said that “Righteousness is (in) one who gives wealth, in spite of love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveler, those who ask (for help)…”
Quran 59:7 said “So that it will not be a perpetual distribution among the rich from among you.”
A true and faithful Muslim cannot be stealing billions and making lives of millions miserable while he and his cronies and family become rich at the expense of suffering people. The holy book in Quran 2:188 made it clear by saying “And do not consume one another’s wealth unjustly or send it (in bribery) to the rulers in order that (you might) consume a portion of the wealth of the people in sin, while you know (it).”
Furthermore, Quran 11:85 says “And O my people, give full measure and weight in justice and do not deprive the people of their due and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption.”
A true and faithful Muslim cannot be actively planning to rig election and manipulating election officials while claiming to go to holy land to pray. This is why Quran 83:1-3 said “Woe to those who give less than due, who, when they take a measure from people, take in full. But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss.”
This is what, Quran 5:42 meant when it said “…They are avid listeners to falsehood, devourers of (what is) unlawful.”
A true and faithful Muslim will not steal, lie, cheat, and promote cheating, looting, election rigging and mindless propaganda. The holy book is explicit in Quran 2:283 when it said “And do not conceal testimony, for whoever conceals it – his heart is indeed sinful.”
And Allah warned all true and faithful Muslims in Quran 61:2-3 when He said “O you who have believed, why do you say what you do not do? Great is hatred in the sight of Allah that you say what you do not do.”
To this extent as I understand from the holy book, Tinubu in Makkah is fake. It is fake Makkah for political manipulation. A man who governs by deceit, hunger, and propaganda cannot wash his sins with Zamzam water in front of cameras. Northern and even Southern Muslims know Allah’s guidance. They know a true and faithful Muslim does not steal mandates. If they are true and faithful Muslims, they will not be deceived by funny videos and uncalled-for photoshoots around the Holy Kaaba. They will only need to juxtapose President Tinubu’s actions and lifestyle with what the Quran says.
If he wants forgiveness, let him return the stolen mandate, stop the looting, feed the children in IDP camps and stop immediately every devilish plan to rig 2027 election for Allah sake. Not pose for 2027 campaign pictures in Madinah.
Allah cannot be mocked.
