Nigerians asked for change, and the results are beginning to speak for themselves. It is not our party saying it, it is one of Nigeria’s most respected and independent economic voices.
His Royal Highness, Muhammadu Sanusi II, Emir of Kano and former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, a man who has never been afraid to speak truth to power, has spoken clearly at the Oxford Global Think Tank conference convened by Arunma Oteh.
In his words: “I’m not a fan of politicians, but we need to give credit to President Tinubu’s administration for bringing us back from the brink.”
That is not politics. That is facts, figures, and independent validation that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope reforms are working. From economic growth to inflation, from foreign reserves to export diversification, the foundations for lasting stability are being laid.
THE SANUSI VERDICT – THE MILESTONES:
1. Growth is Back: GDP growth surged to 4.48% in Q2 2026 compared to 0.9% average under the Buhari years. That is not promise, that is progress.
2. Inflation Tamed: Inflation has crashed from ∼30% to 14.6% and is projected to fall to 12.5% by year-end – bringing relief to every market, every home, every family.
3. Incomes Rising Again: Dollar GDP per capita is up 47% since 2023. At this pace, we will be back to 2005 prosperity levels by the end of next year.
4. Reserves Strong, Confidence Back: Foreign reserves now stand at $55 Billion – a clear sign that investors believe in Nigeria again.
5. Real Diversification: 20% of Nigeria’s exports now come from the Dangote Refinery – proof that we are no longer just a crude oil economy.
THE Glaring Failure of the Opposition:
And this is where the opposition completely fails Nigerians. So far, not a single presidential candidate sparring with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been able to articulate and lay before Nigerians a clear-cut, measurable, and superior agenda.
They offer criticism without calculation. They offer attacks without alternatives.
What is their plan to beat 4.48% growth? What is their plan to bring inflation lower than 14.6%? What is their plan to grow reserves beyond $55 Billion?
They have none.
CONCLUSION:
President Tinubu has taken the difficult, courageous decisions that others avoided – removing the crippling fuel subsidy, unifying the exchange rate, and laying the first real foundation for stability in over a decade.
As Emir Sanusi said, it is only the first step, but it is a decisive step in the right direction. The current pace of growth must be sustained, not truncated by those who have no plan.
Nigerians cannot afford to return to trial-and-error. We must consolidate the gains. We must stay the course.
Criticism is not a policy. President Tinubu has a record. The opposition only has noise.
