Integrity Still Possible in Uniform: How One Woman Officer Served 35 Years Without Blemish
Abeokuta stood still on Saturday, 3rd October 2026, as one of Ogun State’s finest, most disciplined and most respected police officers took a final salute.
DSP Folashade Oluwole — former 2i/c PPRO, Ogun State Police Command and immediate past Officer-in-Charge, CP Monitoring Team — has retired from the Nigeria Police Force after spending 35 meritorious years in service *with her integrity intact.*
And what a celebration it was!
The colourful retirement ceremony, held at the prestigious Police Officers’ Mess, GRA Ibara, Abeokuta, was not just a party. It was a testimony. A statement that it is still possible to wear the uniform and keep your conscience clean.
The hall was filled to capacity with the who-is-who in Ogun State’s security and social architecture.
Chairman of the occasion was a former Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, AIG Lanre Sikiru Bankole (Rtd). Also in attendance was another former CP, CP Edward Awolowo Ajogun (Rtd), who is now the Security Consultant to the Ogun State Governor.
Other dignitaries included the PCRC family led by the Chairman, Zone 2, Ven. Dr. Samson Kunle Popoola JP, highly revered Traditional Rulers led by the Alaketu of Ketu Land, Religious Leaders, Community Leaders, top journalists, professional colleagues from NIPR Ogun State Chapter, the Asiwaju of Orile Imo land and many other distinguished Nigerians too numerous to mention.
*THE EMOTIONAL MOMENT THAT STOLE THE DAY*
In a moment that left many in tears, a Muslim cleric took the microphone and narrated how DSP Oluwole’s diligence and fear of God saved him from unjust imprisonment in a very serious case.
“If not for my financial limitation, I would have bought her a brand new car today,” he said, his voice breaking. Unable to control his emotions, he wept openly, praying and calling on Almighty Allah to “surprise this good woman on my behalf for what she did for me.”
One testimony after another poured in — all speaking to one thing: UPRIGHTNESS. DISCIPLINE. HUMANITY.
The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, who was ably represented, did not only grace the occasion but also decorated the retiring officer with the *CP’s Commendation Award* for exceptional service.
Her former superiors also paid glowing tributes — CSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, CSP Omolola Odutola, and the immediate past Commander, SWAT Ogun State, CSP Murphy Akanbi Salami (Rtd) — all described her as a rare breed.
The event was elegantly moderated by the highly sought-after Master of Ceremony, Comrade Kunle Sodipo (MC CKS), ably assisted by Fresh FM’s own Femi Oyenekan a.k.a Onikanga Agbongbe Ede.
*A NATIONAL CALL: IGP AND POLICE MANAGEMENT TEAM SHOULD CELEBRATE THIS ICON OF INTEGRITY*
If there is any officer who deserves to be celebrated by the Inspector-General of Police and his management team, it is DSP Folashade Oluwole.
At a time when public trust in the Police is constantly being tested, officers like her are the strongest PR the Force can have. Celebrating her is not just about her — it is about sending a powerful message to serving officers that integrity pays, and to Nigerians that the Police Force still parades men and women of honour.
We hereby call on the Inspector-General of Police, IGP, to give this Amazon a well-deserved national recognition at the Force Headquarters. Let her 35 years of untainted service be used as a case study for younger officers. If position allows, a Commendation from the IGP would be a morale booster for all upright officers still in service.
DSP Folashade Oluwole has not just retired. She has left a blueprint. A proof that in a system many love to condemn, there are still officers who serve with fear of God, contentment and unshakable integrity.
She came. She served. She conquered without compromise.
*Congratulations, Ma’am. Ogun State will miss you. Nigeria salutes you.*
