The Nigeria Middlebelt urgently but strategically needs a solemn convergence and a critical, unified front of visionary leaders & key stakeholders who will come together and begin the arduous task of fashioning out a viable way forward for its people and region.
The region has suffered in an ecosystem that has thrived in multifaceted opportunism, systemic oppression, hegemony, culture, structure and tactics based on a framework of socio-political, ethnoreligious and class banditry of physical & emotional violence, trauma and hostile takeover of our time&space.
This is no time for posturing, grandstanding, meaningless noise, attention/relevance seeking and, or making impressions. I sincerely hope that we can see well beyond the multiple layers of deceptive optics, dulled by myriads of personal interests and agendas, clouding objective interrogation of the status quo of big political, ethnoreligious and economic groups, to take over and dominate perpetually the Nigeria space.
I also hope that we see and recognize that we have a very small window of opportunity, warning us of impending consequences if we choose to disregard the visible trajectry of hostile takeover of the present political games that have taken drastic turns in a short spate of time.
The times demand from us bold&innovative, honest&unified collaborations&actions to build upon foundations of truth&justice, uprightness&equity to displace, dispose and replace a structure&system that has fed the progressive and oppressive degradation&destruction of our people&land in recent decades.
The time is long overdue for us to take responsibility for, and to restructure and reorganize our space for the present and future, in our interface with our society and country at large. No one will do it for us by sympathy or pity. It is not a given. It must be taken, resolutely, as a right to self determination.
