Supporters of Obi

Sir, permit me to say that in every election contest, the mission is to stop your opponents at all cost.

The opponents also wish to win at all cost, at least in Nigeria.

It is the unwritten covert rule.

Politics is an extention of war by other means.

Chief Obasanjo even said election is ‘Do or Die”, an extreme version of political intrigue and culture in Nigeria.

Obi’s determination is to win at all cost, that is why he could not stay in one party except he is the Presidential candidate.

The desire and the right to WIN AT ALL COST by Obi justifies and presuposes the right of his opponents to stop him from winning AT ALL COST.

If the goal is to save Nigeria as they claim, Atiku,Kwankwanso or Obi should have stepped down for each other. They should have stepped down at least for Obi, who is from the South.

Obi wont get another chance until 2038. One minute for a politician is like a millenium. They cant endure the patience.

Now, the support for Obi is fuelled by many factors;

1) The innocent patriot driven by propaganda that Obi is the messiah.

2) The naive, ice-cream conscious, tie-decking, educated by shallow, narrow-minded, yet nice supporters that think Nigerian complex problems would end with Obi.

3) 10 percenters, politicians and business cartels who have lost out in the game and see Obi as their new pot of soup

4) Igbo ethnic lords who think and rightly so, that with Obi, strategic post will be given to Igbos, reenacting exactly what Aguiyi Ironsi did. This group is on a veangeance mission. I do not blame them in the bitter scramble for a fragile, fading country.

5) The loudest are the fanatical Biafran agitators, IPOB, Nazists, who firmly believe and rightly so that Obi will help create Biafra. It is their legitimate right to use Obi as a pun.

7) Those that hate the face of Tinubu and who want just anything, anybody except Tinubu.

This last group is motivated by hate and avarice neither common sense no critical thinking.

This group is ready to commit suicide if Tinubu wins again.

In all, supporters of Obi underline the need for him to win AT ALL COST, but are mute on Obi-s pedigree, his history, character, the content and form of his “magic solution” to the economy, how he wants to rebuild a fractured country, his dream for a new country, his solution to the National Question, terrorism, fuel subsidy and the poor outlook of the economy.

A great leader should have preconceived solutions to any problem and that template should be a public document on the basis of which the masses will be energised.

For now, Obi has none.

In a country where brawl is superior to reason, logic and common sense, Im not suprised at the mob agitators shouting OBI, OBI.

Nigerian voters need deliverance from sentiment, photo- opportunism, perhaps, as much as their leaders do
