PCRC National Chairman Shines as Special Guest of Honour at POWA 2026 Annual General Meeting

Abuja, Nigeria | July 17, 2026

The National Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Alhaji Mogaji Ibraheem Aramide Olaniyan, once again demonstrated his unwavering commitment to the welfare, unity and advancement of the Nigeria Police Force as he graced the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA) 2026 Annual General Meeting as the Special Guest of Honour.

The three-day Annual General Meeting, held from Thursday, 16th July to Saturday, 18th July, 2026, at the Police Resource Centre, Jabi, Abuja, attracted distinguished personalities from across the country, including senior government officials, the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force, wives of senior police officers, eminent stakeholders and partners in policing.

The presence of the PCRC National Chairman as the Special Guest of Honour was a clear testament to the cordial and enduring relationship between the Police Community Relations Committee and the Nigeria Police Force, as well as the immense confidence reposed in his visionary leadership and patriotic service to national development.

In his keynote goodwill address, Alhaji Mogaji Ibraheem Olaniyan paid glowing tribute to the remarkable sacrifices made daily by wives of police officers, describing them as the unsung heroines of national security whose immeasurable contributions often go unnoticed.

He stated that while police officers confront criminality on the frontlines, their wives silently shoulder enormous responsibilities at home, providing emotional strength, moral encouragement and stability that enable their husbands to serve the nation with courage and dedication.

According to him:

“Only Almighty God can adequately reward the wives of our gallant police officers for their sacrifices. Their steadfast support to their husbands and their immeasurable contributions to nation-building deserve the highest recognition. If there is any group of Nigerians worthy of National Honours without prejudice, it is the wives of our police officers.”

His heartfelt remarks attracted prolonged applause from the audience, with many describing the speech as one of the most sincere acknowledgements ever given to the invaluable role of POWA members.

The PCRC National Chairman equally reserved glowing commendations for the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, whom he described as *the best choice made by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

He noted that within a short period of assuming office, the Inspector-General has demonstrated exceptional leadership, professionalism, courage and strategic vision, leading to renewed confidence in policing across the country.

Alhaji Olaniyan further acknowledged the enormous support being rendered by the National President of POWA and wife of the Inspector-General of Police, describing her as the dependable pillar, trusted confidante and motivating force whose encouragement and dedication continue to complement the successful leadership of the Inspector-General.

In her response, the National President of POWA expressed profound appreciation to the PCRC National Chairman for his consistent support to the association and the Nigeria Police Force over the years.

She particularly thanked him for honouring the invitation as the Special Guest of Honour and acknowledged the numerous developmental interventions and collaborative efforts of the PCRC under his leadership.

The entire gathering of POWA members accorded Alhaji Mogaji Olaniyan and his delegation an exceptionally warm reception and standing ovation, reflecting the deep respect and admiration they command within the policing family.

Adding further prestige to the occasion, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, publicly acknowledged the outstanding contributions of the PCRC National Chairman, describing him as:

“A patriot, visionary, bridge-builder and selfless leader whose exemplary service has continued to bring honour, credibility and remarkable support to the Nigeria Police Force and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

Representing the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, the Wife of the Honourable Minister of Defence also commended the PCRC for its outstanding partnership with the Nigeria Police Force.

She applauded the purposeful leadership of Alhaji Mogaji Olaniyan, noting that the PCRC has become a shining example of productive citizen participation in national security, community engagement and peace-building. She encouraged the organisation to sustain its noble programmes, assuring it of continued recognition and support in strengthening safer communities across Nigeria.

The National Chairman was accompanied by an exceptional team of distinguished PCRC leaders whose loyalty, competence and commitment continue to strengthen the National Executive.

Leading the delegation was the Deputy National Chairman Generalisimo, Ambassador Sadiq Wada*, fondly admired across the organisation and affectionately called the “Smart Boy.” A man of uncommon humility, discipline and strategic wisdom, Ambassador Wada has remained one of the strongest pillars of the current administration. His unwavering loyalty, steadfast commitment, administrative brilliance and selfless devotion to the ideals of the PCRC have earned him widespread respect as a dependable partner in the National Chairman’s transformational leadership.

 

Also present was the highly respected Chairman of PCRC Rivers State Command, Dr. Voke Emore, who travelled from Port Harcourt to Abuja solely to demonstrate solidarity with the National Chairman and the national leadership. Dr. Emore’s remarkable passion, steadfast loyalty, exemplary dedication and unwavering belief in the vision of the PCRC continue to inspire members nationwide. His consistent support reflects his deep commitment to institutional growth and national service.

Completing the distinguished entourage was the indefatigable Deputy Chief of Staff to the National Chairman, Otunba Bolaji Adigun, who also serves as the Chairman of Zone 7. Widely recognised for his exceptional organisational skills, diligence, humility and administrative excellence, Otunba Adigun has remained one of the most dependable officers within the National Secretariat. His calm disposition, tireless work ethic and unquestionable loyalty have significantly contributed to the smooth coordination of the National Chairman’s programmes and the continued success of the present administration.

Observers at the event described the participation of the PCRC delegation as one of the major highlights of the Annual General Meeting, noting the remarkable synergy, discipline, unity and mutual respect displayed by the leadership team.

 

The outing further reinforced the growing national recognition of the Police Community Relations Committee under the dynamic leadership of *Alhaji Mogaji Ibraheem Aramide Olaniyan*, whose administration continues to build bridges between the Police and the communities they serve while promoting peace, security, patriotism and sustainable national development.

 

The overwhelming goodwill, commendations and recognition received throughout the event stand as yet another affirmation that the PCRC, under the visionary leadership of Alhaji Mogaji Ibraheem Olaniyan, remains an indispensable partner in advancing effective policing, community engagement and the collective aspiration for a safer, stronger and more united Nigeria.
