THOUGHTS ON VINCENT SARICH’S BOOK ON THE REALITY OF HUMAN DIFFERENCES

Over the weekend (April 23/24, 2011) I read Vincent Sarich et al, Race: The Reality of Human Differences (New York: Westview Press, 2004), 285 pages. Apparently, Vincent Sarich is a professor of physical anthropology at the University of California, Berkeley. (Could a real professor write this racist track?)
He contended that race is a biologically (genetically) determined phenomenon, and attempted to demonstrate this thesis by citing all sorts of silly evidence; the man satisfied himself that he made a cogent argument; he apparently believed that his trash talk succeeded in persuading his reader that he made his case. (Not only did he not succeed he made me ashamed that a fool like him could be a professor at my Alma Mata.)
First, he did some spurious historical research and showed how in his view in ancient empires folks were aware of racial differences; he showed how Egyptians and the other ancient empires were aware of race and grouped people into races (he looked at pictures depicting the various races and drew his spurious inference from such pictures). In his view Islamic civilization also paid attention to race.
He showed that law is aware of racial differences and cited how this is done in America (this is hardly objective evidence given America’s racist jurisprudence).
He said that by age three children are aware of racial differences (which are true except that they do not assign value to one race; children do not see one race as superior to others until adults prejudice their impressionable minds).
He railed against Franz Boas, Margaret Mead, Ruth Benedict, Ashley Montague and Jay Gould for redirecting anthropology to cultural anthropology. Apparently, in his view they diverted anthropology from what it should focus on, physical anthropology, the study of how biological matters affect people’s social behaviors. The man got petty and told us that Mead and Benedict were bisexuals and lesbians who studied societies where sexual mores were not stringent as a way of making an argument that America should not consider heterosexuality and monogamous marriage the only acceptable form of human sexual behavior, that is, the two ladies had hidden agendas in doing their research; they were promoting homosexuality and other loose sexual behaviors. (Frankly, I did not want to hear about the two ladies sexual orientation and Sarich abused me by telling me.)
He was particularly angry at what he called social construction of reality, the belief that culture determines what people do. He would rather we accepted biological determination of people’s behavior (apparently to him evolutionary anthropology is the way to go; human beings are determined by nature, genes, their minds are epiphenomenal and have nothing to do with anything). To prove his absurd thesis he returned to nineteenth century measuring of the human skull. He believes that those with deeper skulls (more cubic volume) tend to be more intelligent. He believes that white folks have more brain volume hence are more intelligent than black folk.
His basic argument is that genes affect what people do. In an attempt to prove this hypothesis he said that people from one particular Kenyan ethnic group, Kalengin, dominate long distance running and have won many Olympic marathon races and that this could not have been an accident; that their genes made them do well in such running. Although he did not quite say it his implication is that African-Americans dominate professional sports because they were disposed to do so by their genes (not because, as some people believe, it is the only avenue America allows them to compete freely).
He got to the Cruz of his argument: that intelligence is inherited. He said that tests on standard IQ Tests (primarily the WAIS and WISC) show that Africans average IQ is 70 (Whites average is 100, Orientals average is 115). He proceeded to inform us that IQ of 70 in America denotes mental retardation. His not so hidden point is that Africans are mentally retarded and that this accounts for Africans backwardness.
And all these genetic differences occurred in the last 50, 000 years! As Sarich sees it, all human beings began their evolution in Africa and fifty thousand years ago a batch of Africans left Africa and went to other parts of the world and thereafter developed their different genetic traits. One would think that it would have taken more than a few thousand years for the genetic mutations that produced his alleged differences to occur.
As they say fools always trip themselves. He noted that mentally retarded persons in America (which constitute about 2% of the American population) are generally shunted to special education courses and seldom graduate from high school and actually cannot hold down challenging jobs or organize society. Now, if Africans are generally mentally retarded how come they can go through universities and do other things? If Africans were as dull as he implied they would have been living at slightly above chimpanzees level and not have human society.
(If Mr. Sarich was an adult, not the foolish five year old boy he is I would tell him that in my Africa typical ten year old boys know their world, know the medicinal leaves and roots in their world and can deal with situations that fools like Sarich cannot deal with. In his narration he talked about a bushman boy who was able to tell a white man how to fix his stalled car even though he had no training in auto mechanics and that ought to have told him that Africans are intelligent but he had to make his apish stance that Africans are born unintelligent.)
Like most racists Mr. Sarich seems to gratify his jolly by putting black folks down. Only God knows why these folk believe that it is cute to continually put black folks down, why they do not understand that enough is enough and that it is not nice to continually put one race down. Don’t they understand what they do to young black children who must necessarily believe that their society does not respect them and feel angry? The behaviors of such apes as Sarich actually play a role in many black youngsters dropping out of school for who would want to take classes from such racist monkeys? The monkeys continually put black persons on the defensive; defensive students are usually not good learners and that makes one wonder whether these monkeys do what they do deliberately to help force black kids out of school. Are these apes evil? Only an evil person would continuously harp on another race’s alleged inferiority. Why can’t white racists respect black folks? God, it is amazing that for five hundred years all that black folk got from white folk is unceasing insults.
I am supposing that Mr. Sarich fancies himself very important and imagines that as a professor that African folks take him seriously hence he contributes to their self-doubt (so that they would be ruled by whites) by saying what he said. Poor devil; if only he knows that to Africans like myself he is not even a human being and that we are making efforts to convince ourselves that he and those like him should be seen as human? His pronouncement cannot affect any real African for Africans apriori dismiss him and his type as unintelligent. If he were intelligent he would recognize how irritating it is for white folks to continually talk about black inferiority as if they are god and have the right to do so.
The psychopaths got black Americans to doubt themselves and to not respect themselves, to, instead, fear the terroristic sociopaths from the cold of Europe. The world must civilize these psychopaths for they are a plague unto humanity. We must humanize them before they commit further anti-social crimes. Currently they have nuclear weapons and could use them to blackmail Africans; this is a reason why African countries must get their acts together and start producing nuclear weapons, to checkmate dangerous criminals like Sarich (he is a criminal masquerading as a scholar).
I suspect that Sarich is Jewish. Jews have had it so good in America that Mr. Sarich cannot visualize a situation where tables are turned against them. He has forgotten history where fortunes can rapidly change. It is possible to arouse anger at Jews and get them killed in America or get them packing and running to wherever folks would take them in. All that needs to be done is appeal to white racists by pointing out that Jews are screwing them up, dominating everything in America. As I pointed out in other writings, Jews are inordinately arrogant; they have delusion of superiority; the so-called chosen children of god must be humbled for their own good.
Jews seem to have death wish; they generally do what alienates other persons and when those people feel sufficiently angry they attack and kill Jews and they turn around and tell the world that they are innocent victims of others attack. Jews have been psychologically and verbally abusing black folks by seeing them as mentally deficient thus setting it up for Africans to attack and kill them. These people never learn from their horrible history; wherever they go they make folks angry at them. Sarich is setting his people up to be killed by Africans by saying that black folks are unintelligent. There are over a billion Africans (not counting blacks in North and South America) and only a few million Jews. We know how it would turn out if there is a war by the two groups.
Mr. Sarich gratuitously recommended a public policy based on meritocracy, a situation where individuals are selected for jobs based on merit. Apparently, in his view such a policy would benefit folks like him and keep black folks out of most important sectors of the American economy. Apparently, he does not understand that he is employed at the University of California on racial basis; it is his Jewish affiliation that gave him his job…the Jewish old boy network that gives jobs to friends while they fraudulently claim to hire folks on pure merit).
In a purely competitive world I doubt that Sarich would be hired by Berkeley. See, recently affirmative action programs were eliminated in California and entrance to Berkeley and UCLA is now dominated by Asians; in fact, a kind of reverse discrimination was enacted so that white kids would be admitted to those schools. Without racism one doubts that white folks would overshadow black folks in any area where pure competition is the means for rewarding people’s action. Not too long ago blacks were believed not good at sports and prevented from participating. We all know what happened when that prejudice was lifted. By the same token when bias against black participation in academia is lifted blacks would no doubt do well. (For what it is worth I am opposed to affirmative action hiring provided whites are not favored; I believe that it is insulting to hire anyone for a position based on race.)
What do I make of Mr. Sarich? He is a racist, pure and simple; a childish one at that; apparently, he wanted to join the blacks are unintelligent bandwagon, a wagon folks like Arthur Jensen, Richard Heinstein (The Bell Curve) and other neurotics drive. The man wanted to get what Andy Warhol called his fifteen minutes of fame by talking about racial differences. He knows that there is always a segment of America willing to listen to such nonsense.
His cavalier views on race could persuade racists that there are racial differences caused by genes and thus set some people up for persecution and murder. Adolf Hitler embraced nineteenth century spurious “skull measurement science” that measured skull cubic dept. and on that basis concluded that his Aryan race is more intelligent than other races and therefore wanted to wipe out other races, including Jewish and Slavic people (Sarich is unintelligent despite his self-serving statement that Jewish average IQ is 115, if not 120).
Mr. Sarich sees people only as bodies; apparently his stunted brain could not grasp that people are more than their bodies. There is a spiritual aspect to human beings that even physics is gradually beginning to accept (in quantum mechanics consciousness is shown to affect what is observed, thus affirmatively answering the philosophical question posed by the solipsistic philosopher whom UC Berkeley is named, George Berkeley: if a tree falls and there is no one to see it fall was sound made or did a tree fall; if there are no human beings to observe the universe does the universe exist?).
Mr. Sarich is an animal, apparently a happy animal and someone ought to wipe out the childish grin on his idiot face and teach him to think about the consequences of his childish writing.
The creature did not think about the fact that it is always white folks who study black folk’s intelligence. I have not read where black folks study white folk’s intelligence. The fact that whites presume ability to study black folk’s intelligence betrays arrogance, the arrogance of slave masters who believe that they understand the slave more than the slave understands himself. Just imagine the outrage white folks would feel if black folks studied their intelligence and told them that they are less intelligent than black folks. It is the powerful that test the weak and the fact that idiots like Sarich presume ability to test black folks show their delusion disorder, their belief in their superiority to black folk.
The fact that the instruments white folks employ in testing black folks were designed by white folks and test black folks out at mentally retarded level means that those tests were not designed to test black folks for obviously black folks are not mentally retarded. If black folk were mentally retarded they would not be able to organize African societies…and they had those before their encounter with other races. Those instruments probably were designed to test those who live in temperate and Mediterranean climes and not those who live in the tropics. Those who dwell in the tropics have different existential and phenomenological challenges from those that challenge Europeans and Asians living in temperate and Mediterranean worlds (both Asians and whites do well on so-called IQ tests).
Standard Western IQ tests tend to test for ability to manipulate ones environment, ability to do science and technology, abilities more utilized by those living in the colder regions of the world where survival required them. The tropics did not require such desperate measures to survive in them. The tropics required a different kind of intelligence, the kind possessed by Africans that enabled them to adapt to their tropical world.
White folks are not qualified to test black folk’s intelligence; this is a lesson the idiot Sarich has not yet learned. And for what it is worth by the end of this century Africans would have put their house in political and economic order and begin the process of civilizing the barbarians from Europe. The world of the future is going to be an African influenced world. Unknown to Sarich, from their different perspective on what is intelligence many Africans generally see white folks as childish and would like to civilize them.
It is a pity that the University of California has such childish persons as Sarich teaching at their campuses. I would not encourage any black person to take courses from this dunce. This man should not be allowed anywhere close to a university. Get rid of him for he is garbage.
