*The Conspiracy Against Jesus: An Introduction*

A common phenomenon and reality of our social existence these days is the bombardment of relentless and foolish illiterate and ignorant ideas against our psyche by people who who do not know and who do not even know that they do not know. The internet has made everyone a “scholar” and an “authority” on virtually every subject under the sun; all you need is a mobile phone and know- how about making video and trending. Thus the internet is fast becoming a place for spreading illiterate ideas everywhere.
I have said it before that the internet is most useful and suited for people or society made ready for it, people who have reached the limit of the print and typography – a “typographic society” as Professor Neil Postman calls it in his book _Amusing Ourselves to Death._ Not for illiterate society that has not even explored the full potential and opportunity of print. I shall come to this another day.

Few hours ago I saw a video on the internet by a lady saying that Christ was a figment of imagination and created by the Roman empire. That it was a work of Mithrais. Beautiful lady, light complexioned but very ignorant. Nothing upsets me as seeing a lady who is beautiful but loudmouthed, unintelligent and ignorant.
Few days ago I also had a spat with another person on the WhatsApp group who also claimed that Jesus Christ was a creation of Rome and Christ was nothing but the reincarnation of the same person we know in Egypt as Osiris. This time it was a professor who wrote this not a hungry lady needing money to eat from content creation on Facebook. I was alarmed.

I am aware that since Enlightenment Era and exactly from the Age of Reason ( specifically the era of Rationalism) there has been a wide gulf between Faith and Reason; between Religion and Scholarship. It is so bad today that a wedge has been driven between the two – a wedge that is wholly uncalled for and absolutely unnecessary. The fathers of Enlightenment were all Christians, believers in the God and Christ from Newton to Descartes; from Galileo to Leibniz. Today the tide has changed: a new pharaoh now sits on the throne and commands the academic scholarships of the West that do not reckon or know Joseph.
It is not surprising that around the 19th century a certain kind of scholarship began to emerge from the Western academy that began to question – in the name of scholarship, scientific historicism and freedom – some of the historical truths of Religion especially Christianity that earlier generations had taken for granted. It was around this period that the ‘Quest for the Historical Jesus’ began to surface. Various books and “scholarly” papers and erudition began to surface questioning everything from the existence of historical realities of certain personages and figures to even the genuineness of the sources. New standards of historical scholarship were developed and this were only used when it comes to Christianity. They were only invoked when it comes to Chrisitan records and manuscripts. For instance, Socrates (470-399 BC) or Plato (428-347BC) lived about 350 – 400 years before Christ but no one has ever doubted their existence. Their teachings and philosophy – sections of which actually pose dangers to the well-being of society – are still taught and eagerly perused by generations of uncritical students and teachers as manna from Heaven. No one ever raised issues about the genuineness or authenticity of the manuscripts. Plato never had a press. Socrates knew nothing about printing. Their notes and teachings have been transferred to us through manuscripts copied faithfully by copyists to successive generations. And, wait for these, most of those copyists who we owe for the preservation of these ideas were the same monks, believers and servants and disciples of the same Jesus that the universities are trying to argue out of existence and reality.
There is another issue. The scholars speak of genuineness and authenticity. The original manuscripts on Plato in the British Museum or any museum in Europe are scanty, yet no scholar has ever doubted their genuineness for this. No one has raised doubts about the tragedies of Sophocles despite how scanty original manuscripts of these plays are.

Yet in the British Museum today are several manuscripts of the New Testament affirming the Jesus story dating as early as 3rd century. Yet the “scholars” – the eager beavers who keep the intellectual squirrel cages of Western universities and their slavish mouthpieces who parrot their nonsense from African rickety universities – still insist they lack originality. What then is originality? What is authenticity? Can you use one standard for one set of manuscripts and another set of standard for another? That is not scholarship, that is materialistic ideology parading as scholarship. Those are not scholars but ideologues.

There is another evidence which shows real bias. Will Durant, Professor of Philosophy who was not a Christian was so miffed at the double standard that he was forced to denounce it in his series on “Story of Civilization” (12 Vols)
Whenever an original source cites or gives validity to the Christ story and affirms its genuineness, the “scholars” of confusion and calamity try to ridicule or minimize its genuineness. Thus Cornelius Tacitus (60-120) famous Roman historian and politician of the first and second centuries is disowned because he did mention the Jesus story and testified of the existence of Christ and his crucifixion. “Tacitus couldn’t have written that, the Christian copyists must have inserted the words” – say the “intellectuals” of folly and nonsense. The same Chrisitan monks who copied Plato, Socrates, Sophocles, Demosthenes, Antigone, Auschelyus, Virgil, Herodotus, Hippocrates etc., faithfully and didn’t adulterate them, why should they do the same for one historian? Is this sound reasoning ?

How do we explain the context that the words where Christ was mentioned harmonise with the passage? Did they also forge the entire history of Rome? What about Suetonius who also affirmed that Christ was not a myth but a reality who lived even before Tacitus?

Then a whole letter from a legate to the emperor complaining about Christianity ? Are they also fake?
What about Josephus, the most famous of Jewish historians of the First Century….?

They are all doctored according to the Marxist historians who keep the keys to the gates of Western schools of knowledge and their unfortunate intellectual minions from the Third World who receive their uncritical garbage – I am talking of those “mouthpieces and purveyors of worn-out alienated intellectual discourses and vectors of cultural colonialism and epistemicide fostered by Eurocentric paradigms, slaves of cultural imperialism.” To dismiss all these is no more scholarship it is bias taking the form of academic rigour and coloured in the toga of authenticity.
Obviously then there would appear to be a bias, a conspiracy against the Jesus story and even his Name. In most scholarly papers today even the mere mention of Jesus and his words are considered unscholarly. In most ceremonies in the Western nations like during inauguration the mention of Jesus Name is considered a taboo.
Even in the field of Archeology this bias and conspiracy go on. Whenever anything is discovered that even minutely confirm the Bible stories it is ridiculed and suppressed by the scholarship. These are not scholars, intellectual warriors of unbelief and scepticism.

That is where we are now. That is not scholarship, that is conspiracy.
It is amazing that people who teach the principles of Logic in our universities do not even realize the extent and consequences of their illogic. The very idea of the University as it exists in the West today, the very structure and organisation of scholarship and committee system had their origins in the Church and Christianity. The very preservation of Ancient Knowledge and Documents of antiquity owes a debt to the Church whose monks faithfully preseved these till printing was invented. And by the way, printing was invented by the same followers of a Man Who has now been reduced to a Myth in section of Western scholarship. As Dr. E.W. Kenyon warned, the Western society, its idea of truth, justice, dignity of human person, goodness etc are founded on Christianity and Christ and if the Christ story is successfully undone in the minds and imagination of the youths and children then everything in the West – science, arts, progress, development, government, justice etc. everything will come down. It is not only a warning to the West but to everyone.

Was there a Person called Jesus Christ who lived in the First Century under the Roman Empire in the reign of Augustus Caesar? Is Christ story indeed a Myth, fable as some of the scholars have insisted or a Reality – a reality that cannot be wished away?
Are there evidences of the existence of Jesus outside of the New Testament records of his own disciples and followers and can we trust these records? And what is wrong with the evidences of even his followers if they are genuine? Do we ignore the writings of Awoists about Awo because they are his followers and therefore must be biased? Should we ignore or reject the writings of Marxists – the same anti- religious honchos and forces, products of a failed- Utopia who constitute the opposition to religion in our universities – about Marx? Where would that leave Marx and his thoughts himself?

In the following series of essays I will be bringing these documents to light and argue these issues and anyone willing is invited to meet me in a debate on them.
I will prefer to believe a sincere but ignorant follower of a man who spoke of what he saw and felt than the sophisticated ignorance and philosophy of a Friedrich Nietzsche, a man who lost his mind and had to be cared for like a baby by his own sister; I will prefer to believe an illiterate fisherman who followed a man and spoke of what he saw than the fanciful and pernicious theories of a man like Karl Marx who was described by his own biographer as a drunkard or a man like Voltaire who was busy educating the world that – in the words of a contemporary- “he forgot to think,” a man who on his dying hours was “barking like a dog.”

Let the battle be joined. Let the masquerade be unmasked and let us face each other and see who will be the first to blink and bow.
Enough of this nonsense. It has gone on for too long and it must now be tamed. There is no dichotomy between Faith and Reason. Believing in God is not a negation of reason, it is its affirmation. Faith is not a denial of Reason, it is an affrimation. The discourses of Faith were addressed to men of reason and every notable Revelation since Moses till Paul was communicated to a man of high intellect. The conflict between Reason and Faith exists in the diseased imagination and parochial fantasies of its purveyors.

And Reason does not connote or warrant jettisoning realities and logic. That is not scholarship; that is shifting of the goal posts and gates by sons of perdition pretending to be scholars, ideologues of a failed- and pernicious ideology that have brought more woes than blessings.

In the second part of the essay I will now examine the issue about the Jesus Story, the documents and see whether it is reasonable to believe whether such a person once lived on Earth. This will be divided into three:
* The evidence from the Graeco- Roman sources
* The evidence from Jewish sources
* The evidence of his own disciples.
* Circumstantial evidence supporting His existence
