There is an old law in politics that never fails: _Those who live in glass houses must not throw stones._
But what do you do when the occupant of the glass house is not just throwing stones, but throwing boulders, throwing tantrums, and throwing the entire rule book away – simply because he has seen his own reflection cracking?
That is the tragedy of a desperate leader. And his shenanigans have become the talk of the town.
*1. HE BUILT THE GLASS HOUSE HIMSELF*
He did not inherit it. He built it – brick by transparent brick – with lies, with rented crowds, with press releases that praise him for doing nothing, and with a battalion of data boys whose job is to clap even when he sneezes.
Inside that glass mansion, he thinks he is invincible. Outside, the people are seeing everything clearly: The panic behind the starched agbada. The empty vault behind the heavy curtains. The fear behind the forced smile and the over-rehearsed speeches.
*2. THE FIVE SHENANIGANS OF DESPERATION*
Desperation has a smell. And this one is choking.
*A. Weaponization of Loyalty:* He demands 100% loyalty but gives 0% in return. Anyone who disagrees is branded a betrayal, an enemy of the state, an anti-party element. He has turned friendship to fear.
*B. The Politics of Distraction:* When the people ask about performance, he manufactures a crisis. When they ask about hunger, he organizes a praise-singing rally. He fights everybody to avoid answering one simple question: What have you actually done?
*C. Use and Dump Machinery:* He uses people, uses institutions, uses security, uses the media, and dumps them when they become inconvenient. Today’s trusted ally is tomorrow’s target. He has a graveyard of used men behind his glass house.
*D. Media Rascals and Attack Dogs:* Unable to defend his scorecard, he hires loud, uncultured attack dogs – men who abuse elders on radio and insult women on social media – all in the name of defending their master. He thinks propaganda is governance.
*E. Fear of Tomorrow:* He is already campaigning for 2027 in 2026 because he knows the ground under his glass house is shifting. He plots impeachment, suspension, expulsion – not because his opponents are guilty, but because his own shadow scares him.
*3. THE LAW THAT NEVER FAILS*
Here is what the desperate leader in the glass house forgets:
Glass magnifies. The people can see your cracks before you see theirs.
Glass shatters. One reckless stone thrown by you can bring the entire roof crashing on your head.
And most importantly, history never forgets. No desperate leader throwing stones from a glass house has ever survived the final collapse. They either come out with humility to fix the cracks, or they are buried under the very glass they once boasted about.
Power is temporary. Glass is fragile. Desperation is noisy.
But truth? Truth is patient. Truth is quiet. And truth always outlives shenanigans.
*Let he who lives in a glass house learn to wash his windows, not throw stones.*
