Lamine Yamal’s Historic World Cup Triumph

Lamine Yamal’s mother, Sheila Ebana, hails from Bata, a city of about 400,000 people in Equatorial Guinea whose population is predominantly made up of the Fang ethnic group, a Bantu people. His father, Mounir Nasraoui, is from a village between Larache and Ksar el‑Kebir in Morocco. Mounir proudly identifies with his Amazigh (Berber) heritage. The Amazigh are an indigenous people of North Africa, constituting a significant portion of Morocco’s population and also present in Algeria, Mali, and Niger. In Mali , Nigeria and Niger, they are often referred to as Tuareg.
Lamine’s younger brother, Kenye, is three years old. Lamine is deeply proud of him, showering him with affection and often saying that Kenye is “like his son.” This bond reflects the strong family values that shape Lamine’s character off the pitch.
