We’re working around the clock to ensure abducted Oyo schoolchildren and teachers return home safely — Gov. Makinde.

Governor Seyi Makinde has reassured residents of Oyo State that the pupils and teachers abd¥cted on May 16 from schools in Oriire Local Government Area will soon regain freedom.

Makinde gave the assurance on Wednesday at his Ikolaba residence while hosting his deputy, Bayo Lawal, alongside other Muslim appointees ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

Addressing concerns over the abduction, the governor said, “We’re working around the clock to ensure the abd¥cted children are united with their families. I pray that God Almighty console those in despair at their point of need.”

Makinde also urged residents to remain tolerant as the political season approaches, stressing that religion and ethnicity should not be used to divide the state.
