Today, we celebrate a towering figure in Nigeria’s legal, political, and academic landscape — Senator Victor Ndoma Egba SAN, OFR,CON — as he marks his 70th birthday. His life’s journey is a testament to discipline, excellence, and service to humanity.
From his early days as a brilliant young lawyer in Calabar, where his sharp intellect and impeccable dress sense inspired many aspiring professionals, to his leadership as Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Calabar Branch, Senator Ndoma Egba has consistently embodied the finest traditions of the legal profession. His law firm, Ndoma Egba, Ebri & Co., was not just a place of practice but a training ground for future generations of lawyers, myself included, during my student internship in 1990.
His distinguished career in public service saw him rise to become Senate Leader of the Nigerian Senate between 2011 and 2015, where he brought dignity, wisdom, and balance to parliamentary proceedings. As Chairman of the Governing Council of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) from 2016 to 2019, he steered the Commission with vision and integrity. Today, he continues to shape minds and institutions as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University Oye Ekiti.
Beyond titles and offices, Senator Ndoma Egba is a quintessential leader — principled, compassionate, and deeply committed to the progress of his people and nation. His journey has inspired countless young Nigerians, myself included, to embrace the nobility of the legal profession and the responsibility of leadership.
At 70, we salute a man of honor, a mentor, and a patriot. May this milestone birthday be a celebration of a life well-lived and a legacy that continues to shine brightly.
Happy 70th Birthday, Senator Victor Ndoma Egba SAN, OFR,CON — a good man and a great leader.
