CONFIDENCE v ARROGANCE.

There is a thin line between confidence and arrogance.

Confidence simply means believing in ones self and his/her ability, without having doubt in yourself. It means raising ones head minimally (i.e not raising your head above your shoulder) without shame nor timidity.

Confidence is majorly a product of a man’s self esteem and self esteem can be divided into two:

High Self Esteem: It simply means thinking of yourself highly than necessary. Believing you are more than you truly are or better/prettier/wiser/smarter than the whole world.

Low self esteem: it’s simply means that you do not believe in your abilities and you feel worthless and inferior.

Healthy self esteem: it is neither too high nor too low. It’s just a balanced reflection of yourself in the mirror. Thinking that you are never better than anyone, you are just sufficient in yourself and it births confidence in the long run.

BALANCING CONFIDENCE & ARROGANCE.

Confidence is just having a healthy self esteem (i.e not too high, neither too low)

Overconfidence is simply arrogance and it means thinking highly of yourself than you ought to and believing you are better than everyone around you.

It means raising ones shoulder beyond your ability i.e having or showing an excessive, degree of confidence that is not supported by one’s actual abilities and knowledge. Pride is the end result of overconfidence.

In conclusion, overconfidence is arrogance and lack of humility. Humility is key to human existence and having a healthy self esteem despite being humble is the best.

Research has shown that Humble people usually have low self esteem. Humility should never be compared to low self esteem but in sobriety, quiet strength and shamefacedness, A man is divinely raised in confidence to another level and dimension.
