Dr. Martin Odudukudu is a Nigerian-born American scholar, educator, philosopher, and researcher whose academic work focuses on education, student interest, curriculum development, and teaching methodology.
Dr. Odudukudu earned multiple advanced degrees, including:
- MA in Philosophy from Stony Brook University
- MS.Ed in Education from Hofstra University
- Ed.S. in Curriculum and Teaching from Northcentral University
- Ph.D. in Curriculum & Teaching from New York Institute of Teacher Education

His academic and research interests center on the role of student interest in learning and the philosophy of education. Through years of study and practical educational leadership, Dr. Odudukudu developed what he describes as the cognitive perspective of interest and introduced the Content and Strategy Centered Teaching and Learning (CSCTL) method.

Dr. Odudukudu is the founder and CEO of Center for Development of Interest in Learning, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) research and development institute dedicated to advancing the understanding of student interest in education. Under his leadership, the organization focuses on research, curriculum innovation, and instructional strategies aimed at improving student engagement and learning outcomes.
Educational Leadership
In the mid-1990s, Dr. Odudukudu played a major role in developing an innovative Alternative High School Program in the Roosevelt School District. The program was designed to address the challenges faced by over-age students and school dropouts. He developed the curriculum for the program and managed it for six years beginning in 1992, helping many students return to and succeed in education.
Dr. Odudukudu is recognized for combining philosophy, educational theory, and practical teaching strategies to promote deeper learning and sustained student engagement.
