I heartily felicitate with His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, Executive Governor of Cross River State, on the occasion of his birthday today, 18th October.
Governor Otu was born on 18th October 1959. He assumed office on 29th May 2023 as the fourth democratically elected Governor of Cross River State since the return to democracy in 1999.
He inherited a State confronted with enormous challenges — fiscal distress, loss of public confidence, and a frightening security situation characterized by rampant kidnapping for ransom and other violent crimes.
Within a short period, he has demonstrated calm, compassionate and people-centered leadership, restoring trust and confidence in governance and decisively tackling insecurity. Cross River State is steadily regaining its peace and pride of place.
On this special day, I pray that Almighty God grants him good health, wisdom, and greater strength to continue to lead our dear State to higher heights.
