The universe is light. It is light dancing with itself. Light has two aspects: spiritual and physical light.
Spiritual light projects physical light. It transforms some of that physical light (waves and particles of light, photons) into electrons and quarks and combines quarks to form protons and neutrons. That is, it transformed physical light into matter.
It also transforms physical light into antimatter. When it suits it, it has matter and anti-matter, attack each other, and annihilate themselves and return to physical light.
With matter (that is, disguised physical light), spiritual light constructs atoms, elements, molecules, stars, planets, plants, animals, and everything else we see in the universe. There are innumerable stars that we conveniently group into galaxies.
There are innumerable stars, galaxies, planets, plants, and animals (human beings included in animals).
Occasionally, a star runs short of hydrogen fuel that it fuses to form helium, and begins to fuse other elements, and when it gets to iron, it gets hot and explodes in a supernova.
The inner core of the star collapses to either a neutron star (that spins incredibly rapidly) or a black hole, in which nothing that enters its event horizon can escape, not even light.
In the supernova, elements beyond iron are formed. There are 92 naturally occurring elements (hydrogen, helium, lithium…carbon, nitrogen, oxygen…uranium is number 92) and another twenty formed in laboratories by scientists.
From the debris of exploded stars (nebulae), new stars and planets are formed. Our star, the Sun and its nine planets and asteroids and comets (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupitar, Saturn, Neptune, Uranius and Pluto) were formed four and half billion years ago and will last another five billion years (in about two billion years the sun begins to get extremely hot and expand, and eventually dry all liquid on planet earth and explode in a supernova and its inner core remains as a white dwarf star and shines for a few billion years before its light is extinguished and it becomes a piece of rock floating in space (rock meaning congealed light).
With matter, our bodies are formed. We get the impression that the body determines our lives, determines our thinking; science teaches that the mind, thinking, is epiphenomenal. Metaphysics teaches that there is a mind and thinking outside the brain and body.
The human body is part of matter, which is frozen physical light (there is a reason why space is cold; it helps freeze light into matter). Our bodies are congealed light. Body, plants, animals, planet Earth, and stars are light disguised as matter.
WE ARE LIGHT
Therefore, you must say to yourself: I am light. My body is part of physical light, which spiritual light projects into and uses to do physical work, but at root, like everything in the universe, it is made from light.
Spiritual light, as it were, magically projects physical light and transforms some of that light energy to matter, and uses physical light and matter to do work.
Spiritual light is dancing with itself, as physical light and matter. Physical light, matter, our bodies, plants and animals, and stars, space, and time are illusions; they do not exist but seem to exist. What exists, what is real, is spirit.
If you go beyond metaphysical poetry, what you learn is that you are light playing with itself; only light exists.
Light became matter, space, and time; light becomes matter with which the beautiful picture of the forest I have hanging in my living room is made. Forests are beautiful to look at (but in them, animals are devouring each other; that is, light is transformed from some animals to other animals in the form of food).
Light became matter, which became trees, beautiful flowers, insects, and animals in that beautiful forest I love to look at. I like taking long walks in the woods and feeling one with all the trees and animals because we are one light.
ALL YOU NEED IS REASON AND SCIENCE TO UNDERSTAND THAT WE ARE LIGHT
You do not need prayer to a non-existent God to understand that your body is light. Physics and science in general can help you understand that everything is made from light and remains light; when you see objects that seem made of solid matter, you see an illusion that light makes in its play with itself.
(Materialism, the philosophy that everything is made of matter, is a nineteenth-century level of science; our current science knows that everything is made of light.)
There is spiritual and physical light. It is spiritual light that projects a nonexistent physical light and transforms it into matter and uses matter to form our universe.
The aspect of us that is part of spiritual light is difficult to understand. To glean spiritual light, you have to do what Gautama Buddha did: shut down your ego thinking; deny that you are your separated mind and self. You are not your ego, separated self, self-concept, self-image, or body.
MEDITATION
Accept that you are what goes beyond all earthly understanding; say so, silence your mind, and be calm. This is called meditation.
If you keep meditating, one day you will see our physical world replaced by a version of it in light forms, which is also false.
If you also reject those light forms of hallucination (our world is a hallucination in matter) and keep quiet, someday you will escape from all forms and experience spiritual light where there is one formless light with infinite units, particles, all of them part of that one light.
You can call that one spiritual light God and call its parts, units, the sons of God, and accept that God and his sons are one shared self with one shared mind. There is no separation in spirit.
Give up your pursuit of becoming a separated ego; for me, since my ego wanted to be ginormous, it means giving up my desire for a humongous ego (if you do so what other people used to do that made your ego feel slighted will no longer bother you because you now know that you are not the ego, big or small, and other people are not egos that can slight you).
With illumination and enlightenment to the fact that you are part of an eternal spiritual light, you know that your true self, your real self, is life, light, and love. With that knowledge, you feel at peace and happiness.
LIFE, LIGHT, AND LOVE
I studied A Course in Miracles for many years. I asked what miracle it wants me to have?
It took the entire 1400-page book to tell me the simple fact that miracles are a change in our perception of ourselves, people, and all things, from seeing them as separated selves in bodies to seeing them in light forms of what they are currently. This change in perception brings you to the metaphorical gate of heaven (to some peace and happiness, but you are still outside heaven because you still have the illusion of being in a form, living in space and time).
Eventually, you experience heaven; heaven is when you see our physical universe disappear, and you know yourself as one with spiritual light, and in it, you feel that you have come home and are eternal, permanent, and changeless; you feel peace and joy.
You may experience a desire to return to the world of matter, space, and time and articulate your new understanding of reality, as I am doing here, and you do so in your own language; some do so in beautiful poetic language, as Helen Schucman did; I do so in simple prose, with the help of science.
Science is an illusion we use to understand the illusions of space, time, and matter; science helps us transcend illusions and reach formless spiritual light.
DISCUSION
The deluded person says that he is God and does not see other people as God; he uses the idea of being God to look down on other people that he sees as not good enough to be God as he is. That is, he uses the idea of God to feel superior to normal people.
Normal people are completely asleep; they are in deep slumber and have forgotten that they are parts of God; they see themselves as separated selves in bodies.
The mystic knows from direct experience that he is part of God and that other people, though believing that they are bodies and egos, are also parts of God.
Normal people are the sons of God who have, by their choice, forgotten their Godness and are currently in bodies that function as egos in their dream of self-forgetfulness.
The neurotic is beginning to glean awareness that he is God but has chosen not to see all people as also part of God. The neurotic is close to enlightenment but is not quite there yet.
The mystic, knowing that we are all parts of God, loves all people and leaves those who are acting as egos in bodies alone; he knows that he cannot change other people’s self-perception; they will change that false perception when they want to, in this or future lifetimes.
There is no past, present and future; all that takes place now, but we can employ the ego terms of past, present, and future and reincarnation to help us understand ourselves.
At the moment, I am living with this person who says that he is God and sees me and all people as not God and beneath him. Clearly, he is deluded. He is always talking loudly. Why? It is because he wants to be heard; his grandiose ego self-image is seeking attention; to pay attention to it, positive or negative, is to validate it, make it feel like it exists; starve it of attention, do not validate it by not responding to it with attention. He is not the big self-talking loudly, so ignore it. Don’t reinforce foolishness in anyone, yourself included.
I brought him to me to enable me to see how deluded people behave and from that observation learn about the nature of mental disorders.
There are no accidents in our lives; we attract to us those we need to learn from, and I attracted this person who is hell-bent on telling me what an inferior person I am. He teaches me about my former view of myself as superior to other people. He is showing me the folly of what I used to do.
Mental health lies in accepting that, beyond the ego and body, we are all parts of one formless, unified spirit self.
In the here and now world, each of us chooses a function to perform and, in doing so, enables all of us to learn about our true selves. Living with a deluded person, a partial psychotic (he does not hallucinate; to have full psychosis, one must have delusions and hallucinations in one or more of the senses), I learned more about mental disorders.
This man’s efforts to seem superior to me make me laugh. Enlightened people laugh at human follies because they are their follies as well.
We are the parts of one God play-acting that we are ego-separated selves in bodies. Enjoy the play that we collectively wrote and each of us accepts to play a part in it, a role in it for all of us to amuse ourselves, have fun, and grow towards the remembrance of our real self, the unified sons of God who are one with God.
