Michael Abiodun Komolafe is a native of Ijebu-Jesa, the headquarters of the Oriade Local Government Area of Osun State.
A seasoned statistician and administrator, he holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Statistics from the University of Ilorin (1997) and an MBA from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (2003). He is also an Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered).
His early leadership was marked by a prolific editorial streak, having served as Editor-in-Chief for several major student bodies, including the Student Union Government at the University of Ilorin and the Association of MBA Students at OAU.
Komolafe’s professional experience spans the non-governmental, public, and private sectors. Since 1992, he has been a consistent voice in the media, contributing to national and international dailies on matters of global importance.
He served as the pioneer Administrative Secretary of the Afenifere Renewal Group (ARG) before transitioning to Continental Broadcasting Services Limited (owners of TVC News and Max FM). There, he served as the Lagos/Ogun Bureau Chief for Uniq 103.1 FM, Ilesa.
His career in public service includes two high-profile appointments within the Osun State Government: first as Senior Special Assistant (Media) to Governor Rauf Aregbesola in 2016, and later in the same capacity for Governor Gboyega Oyetola from 2020 until November 2022.
Komolafe has since returned to his role as a Columnist with The Nation newspapers. He is happily married and the father of two children, Abiola and Ajibola.
