"Conservatism as a political and social philosophy promotes retaining traditional social institutions in the context of culture and civilization. Some conservatives seek to preserve things as they are, emphasizing stability and continuity, while others, called reactionaries, oppose modernism and seek a return to "the way things were".[1][2] The first established use of the term in a political context originated with François-René de Chateaubriand in 1818,[3] during the period of Bourbon restoration that sought to roll back the policies of the French Revolution. The term, historically associated with right-wing politics, has since been used to describe a wide range of views.

There is no single set of policies that are universally regarded as conservative, because the meaning of conservatism depends on what is considered traditional in a given place and time. Thus conservatives from different parts of the world—each upholding their respective traditions—may disagree on a wide range of issues. Edmund Burke, an 18th-century politician who opposed the French Revolution but supported the American Revolution, is credited as one of the main theorists of conservatism in Britain in the 1790s.[4] According to Quintin Hogg, the chairman of the British Conservative Party in 1959, "Conservatism is not so much a philosophy as an attitude, a constant force, performing a timeless function in the development of a free society, and corresponding to a deep and permanent requirement of human nature itself."[5]   Wikipedia

Zubby: You have a right to be a Christian conservative but you do not have a right to consider all Igbos as you are.

Consider your conflation of Christianity with conservativism (which, apparently, you picked up from American Christian evangelicals). Have you read the Bible? Where in the Bible did you get the idea that to be a Christian is not to be concerned with your neighbors' plight, as white conservatives are?

If by Christianity you mean the New Testament, the gospel of love given to the world by Jesus Christ there is nowhere in the bible that Jesus told his followers not to care for other people. Jesus asked those who follow him to go and sell their worldly goods and give them to the poor. Do you remember the parable of the rich man who came to see Jesus and asked what he must do to find salvation and Jesus told him to go sell his property and give the money to the poor?

Matthew 19:21 Jesus answered, "If you want to be...

Jesus told him, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and giveto ... and giveto the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me." ... Jesus said to him, 'If thou dost will to be perfect, go away, sell what thou hast, ... was as much a trial of the young man's faith, as the precept was of his charity ...

Luke 18:22 When Jesus heard this, he said to him,...

Sell everything you have and giveto the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me." New Living Translation When Jesus heard his answer, he said, "There is still one thing you haven't done. ... Jesus told him, "You still lack one thing: Sell everything you own and giveto the .... Zubby, I do not know if you have read the Bible or whether you are even a Christian.  To be a Christian is to serve the poor.

Christianity means loving God and loving all people, and doing unto others as one wants them to do to one. How do you want other people to do to you? You want them to love you so you love them. What is love?

In our world if a person loves his family he provides for them; he goes to work and makes a living for his family.

What is the Christian family? What is God's family? The Christian family is all Christians. God's family is all human beings.

A Christian works for the good of all Christians and all people.   This translates to social service. A good Christian makes sure that all children in his world do not go hungry; a good Christian makes sure that all children go to school and that means paying for their school fees through university; he makes sure that all the sick are treated. Do you remember the story of the Good Samaritan?

Luke 10:25-37 - The Parable of the Good Samaritan...

The Parable of the Good Samaritan - On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. "Teacher," he asked, "what must I do to.

A Christian makes sure that all people have access to publicly paid health insurance.   He may also pay attention to a few other things and then leave it to the individual to shift for his self.

White American racists perverted Christianity and used it to justify slavery. At present they do not want to care for black people; they only see black people as niggers whose labor is used for free. Racism made them refuse to act as Christians.

Incidentally, they are paying a severe price for refusing to live as Christians; see their current addiction to drugs and homosexuality (both self-centered life styles). Unless they make course correction and return to Christian devotion to public service they are all going to become drug addicts and homosexuals and die off, or their evil empire collapses, as Rome did.

White Americans refused to be Christian; as such, they refused to provide for black people what white folks in Europe have provided for all their people: free education at all levels and publicly paid health insurance.

Conservative white Americans are even opposed to paying for K through 12 public educations because they do not want black kids to go to school. They grudgingly provide them with dumbed down education (America's K-12 education is today ranked number 34 in the world; publicly paid education in Europe produces  better students than the illiterates that American schools churn out).

I watch you talk as if conservativism is all good and liberalism is all bad.

"Liberalism is a political philosophy or worldview founded on ideas of liberty and equality.[1][2][3] Whereas classical liberalism emphasizes the role of liberty, social liberalism stresses the importance of equality.[4] Liberals espouse a wide array of views depending on their understanding of these principles, but generally they support ideas and programmes such as freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of religion, free markets, civil rights, democratic societies, secular governments, gender equality and international cooperation.[5][6][7][8][9][10][11]

Liberalism first became a distinct political movement during the Age of Enlightenment, when it became popular among philosophers and economists in the Western world. Liberalism rejected the prevailing social and political norms of hereditary privilege, state religion, absolute monarchy, and the Divine Right of Kings. The 17th-century philosopher John Locke is often credited with founding liberalism as a distinct philosophical tradition. Locke argued that each man has a natural right to life, liberty and property, [12] while adding that governments must not violate these rights based on the social contract. Liberals opposed traditional conservatism and sought to replace absolutism in government with representative democracy and the rule of law.

Prominent revolutionaries in the Glorious Revolution, the American Revolution, and the French Revolution used liberal philosophy to justify the armed overthrow of what they saw as tyrannical rule. Liberalism started to spread rapidly especially after the French Revolution. The 19th century saw liberal governments established in nations across Europe, South America, and North America.[13] In this period, the dominant ideological opponent of classical liberalism was conservatism, but liberalism later survived major ideological challenges from new opponents, such as fascism and communism. During the 20th century, liberal ideas spread even further as liberal democracies found themselves on the winning side in both world wars. In Europe and North America, the establishment of social liberalism became a key component in the expansion of the welfare state.[14] [15] today, liberal parties continue to wield power and influence throughout the world." Wikipedia

I know that there is a distinction between how academics define classical liberalism and how American political discourse defines liberalism. In America's political culture liberals are those who seek big government and want to use government to help the poor, a sort of socialism. To conservatives this is supposed to be bad!  Bad even though their supposed Christian religion asks them to help the poor!  I am not doing academic stuff here; I am merely trying to understand the root of your infantile worship of American conservatism.

Can you tell us who gave Americans social security, Medicare, publicly paid k through high school education? It is liberals. Would you rather we did not support our elders or provide all our children with education to satisfy the conservative idol that you have made your god?

What exactly have conservatives done for America? Can you come up with one thing that serves public good that conservatives did for Americans?

What do conservatives do but pay for the military, police and courts to jail "niggers and build prisons to house niggers"?

What do conservatives do that is good for Americans?   Do we need to go to economics to find the answer?

In 1929 unfettered capitalism collapsed, as it always does, it goes through periods of boom and bust, inflation and depression, and liberals found an answer to save capitalism from itself.

John Maynard Keynes saved laissez faire economics from its foolishness. We live in the Keynesian economic world where governments employ monetary, fiscal, taxation and other policies to fight inflation and depression; all those are liberal ideas.

Can you give me one idea in economics that conservatives came up with? I can think of many bad ideas given to us by conservatives. Consider Arthur Laffer's supply side economics. That waco professor at the University of Southern California, USC, said that the rich should be allowed to keep most of their money and that they would use it to invest in the productive sector of the economy hence create jobs.

Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher accepted Laffer's economic view, along with the fairy tales taught by Milton Friedman at University of Chicago's School of Economics.  Taxes were cut and the rich used their additional income to buy yachts and lived lavishly and the economy was not stimulated into boom, as Laffer and Friedman had said that it would; so, we, under Bill Clinton (Billy Boy is good in economics, I got to give that to him), returned to tried and true Keynesian economic ideas and those got us out of the 1980s recession.

Adam Smith wrote the Wealth of Nations in 1776 and argued for free enterprise. The founding fathers of America embraced his economic ideas, especially as it was the opposite of what they resented in the British economy at the time, Mercantilism.

Mr. Smith said that individuals should be free to go and make profits but also said that they should establish foundations to use that money to serve the poor. American conservatives deliberately ignore this social service angle of capitalism and only harp on the so-called benefits of unfettered competition in the capitalist market.

What exactly is the matter with you, Zubby?  Were you born an idiot or what? Don't you have any kind of decency that disposes you to understand that capitalism and your conservatives exploit the working class?  Do I need to teach you Marxism here? I will not go there!

You talk about Igbo character traits and seem to erroneously believe that it is capitalistic. What exactly is Igbo approach to the economy?

Igbo people had a culture. Culture is not a static thing; culture is always growing, so what is the Igbo culture that you are talking about, the Igbo culture that captured Igbos and sold them to white men; Igbos sold their people from 1500-1900?  Is this what you believe is good Igbo culture?

Is it Igbo culture not to help the poor and have the children of the poor not go to school? If you do so they grow up and become criminals and kidnap your Igbo ass and kill you for not helping them! They are already doing so in Alaigbo!

You talk shop about Biafra. When push comes to shove 18-28 year olds are going to have to fight for that Biafra of yours.

So, you ignored them; they grew up hungry and uneducated and turned eighteen and you conscripted them into the army to go fight for your self-centered ass to stay alive? If such soldiers are smart they would turn the rifles your evil soul gave to them on your head and blow it out.

If you did not pay young people's school fees and helped their mothers out why would you want them to go fight your wars for you? You want them to fight and die to protect you and you did nothing to help them and instead talk jazz about capitalism and conservatism?

Are you really as satanic as American white conservatives are or have it not occurred to you that white Americans, as Malcolm X pointed out, are mostly devils in human bodies?

God, you make me puke. I often wonder whether you went to school at all. Did you go to college and have a bachelor's degree? You write like a white trash, a Hilly-Billy dwelling in the boondocks.

Listen, I do not like Hillary Clinton because she is a crook and is corrupt; neither do I like Trump for I have not forgotten that he tried to delegitimize the first black president of America, Obama by asking for his birth certificate, or did you not recognize that what Trump was doing is classic racist behavior? To racists black folks are not smart and they believed that Obama was not smart and as such should not rule America. The whole Tea Party movement was an attempt to take America back from the rule of Niggers "like Obama is supposed to be".

Or is there no racism in your heaven on earth called America? You are the proverbial ostrich who hides its head in sand; all around you racist white police officers kill young black men and you come to the public square and talk as if white America is composed of angels. You even seem to celebrate the massacring of black folks by racist white police officers!

Trump has some useful policies such as his desire to keep Jihadists out of America; that policy appeals to those of us who want to keep Jihadists out of our world. This does not mean that we embrace all that Trump stands for (for Christ sake, the man has not paid taxes in twenty years!).

Do you even know that Trump is supported by KKK racists like David Duke, folks who want to ship your black ass back to your thieves' empire, Nigeria?

I am tempted to go on and on teaching you about the real world, not your silly admiration of conservatism, a political ideology that you do not even seem to understand, but I must stop. I must stop because I do not believe that you have the mental ability to understand high level economic and or political discourse. Like your cohorts, the Biafra crowd, you appear averagely intelligent (IQ under 100); you need, at least, above average intelligence (IQ 120-130) to be able to engage in high caliber political discourse.

Let me conclude by giving it to you straight; unless America changes from its present oppressive social structure to a social democratic polity (a mixture of capitalism and socialism) and figure out a way to share wealth, give or take, in fifty years there will be a bloody revolution in America and the heads of the billionaires and millionaires, like the heads of the French Aristocrats in 1789, will be cut off.

You cannot allow a few to have all the wealth in the land while the masses are suffering and you call it a fair country. In a fair country, whereas there will always be rich and poor, the poor does not have to be homeless.

The entire world must become a social democratic world. Nobody has a right to be paid 20 times what the lowest income earner makes. Yes, there will always be the rich in the human polity but they ought to invest their profits into economic endeavors that generally provide employment for the masses.

Your refusal to understand that American Christian conservatism is a front for racism annoys me!
