Idealistic wishes is the cause of human emotional disturbances

Written by

I was idealistic; my mind was preoccupied with how it wanted me to become ideal and perfect, how it wanted other people to become perfect, how it wanted social institutions to become perfect and how it wanted nature (plants, animals and physical phenomena) to become perfect.

My mind did not accept anything it sees as it is; it always sees something not good in something and wished for it to become better.  I was preoccupied with trying to improve me, people and the world.

DESIRE OF IDEALS LEADS TO FEAR

The more I desired ideals and perfection the more I feared not attaining my wished for ideals and perfection. I defended what seemed to me perfect self and perfect world and feared becoming imperfect.

DESIRE FOR PERFECTION LEADS TO GUILT AND DEPRESSION

I not only feared not becoming perfect I was depressed by what seemed to me my actual imperfection. Imperfection, real or anticipated filled me with fear, guilt and depression, with dread.

DESIRE FOR PERFECTION LEADS TO PARANOIA

If I believed that I am the perfect picture of me that my mind invented I would be deluded, paranoid. The paranoid person sees his body and ego as imperfect and as inadequate and rejects it; he uses his mind to invent a powerful self and posits it as his idealized perfect self. He then believes that he is the false perfect self and defends it; he wants other people to see him as the false powerful self he wants to become; he feels angry at other people for not treating him as the false, ideal, perfect self he wants to become.

IF YOU ACCEPT WHAT IS YOU REGAIN EMOTIONAL CALMNESS

If I accepted me as I am, imperfect; accepted other people as I see them to be, imperfect; accepted the world as I see it to be, imperfect, what would happen? Would the world collapse if I accept us as we are, imperfect?

Initially, I would feel guilty for giving up my quest for perfection for I had assumed that my significant others and God (false ego conception of God) wanted me to become perfect before they accepted me.

If I simply accept my imperfection what actually happen is that I feel inner calmness, peace and happiness.

If one expunged the desire for things to change and become better than they are from one's mind, one's mind becomes calm, peaceful and happy.  One, in fact, would be so calm that one would have no thoughts in one's mind.

It is the desire for the self and the world to become different from the way they currently are that fills one's mind with ego based thinking (meaningless thinking that produces the meaningless world one sees).

If one has no wishes, no desires for a better self and world one becomes calm.  One would not need drugs to calm one's body or over eat to escape from ones disappointments or indulge in sex addiction to calm ones  overexcited body.

PEOPLE ARE DOING WHAT THEY WANT TO DO

Does that mean that you would not see people who appear to be imperfect and are suffering (to make you want to improve them)? You will see them.

Every person you see is exactly where he wants to be and is doing what he wants to do and experiencing what he wants to experience.

If you see poor people they want to experience poverty; if you see black folks who seem shiftless and unable to do the right thing that is exactly what they currently want to experience.

There are no accidents; nothing can happen to any of us without us wanting to experience it. If accidents were possible then there is no God and a world without God is a random, chance determined world.

There is God; God is perfect freedom; he gave his sons perfect freedom; out of their freedom the sons of God chose to seem separated from him and dream our world; in our collective dream, this world, each of us experiences his own individual dream.

ONE SHOULD HELP ONES SELF FIRST AND MODEL IT TO OTHER PEOPLE

Does this mean that one should not try to help the needy? One is helping the needy by staying calm and not wanting to change them. Let people be as they are.

If you are calm you will still have interest in doing something. There are those whose interest is to study the human body and they become medical doctors; they will heal those who have chosen physical illness.

There are those who have chosen to have mental and emotional upsets and you, a mind healer, will help heal them by telling them the source of their mental upsets, their wishes to have different selves (as I am doing here).

When people give up their arrogant ego desire to change themselves and accept themselves as they are they are healed.

THE WISH FOR A DIFFERENT SELF AND DIFFERENT WORLD CAUSED THIS WORLD

It is the wish to have the self and things become different that caused the invention of this world. In eternity, God created his sons; he and they lived in a unified spirit state; in that state they are equal and the same; the only difference between them is that God created them and they did not create God or themselves.

We did not like our natural state and wished to create God, create ourselves and create each other. That is impossible of happening; to seem to have attained it we invented a world of dreams, our physical universe.

While in the physical universe we see things as they are, imperfect (perfection is only possible in the spiritual universe) and want to change them and make them perfect (seem as perfect as in heaven).

Thus, we give ourselves additional desire to change things. The desire to change the ego self and other selves in the physical universe continues our wish to play God in heaven but now on earth.

ACCEPT THE THINGS OF THIS WORLD AS THEY ARE

Now, accept you, other selves and the world as they are and let them be.  If you do so, you have given up the force that brought this world into being, the desire to change things, to make things into what you like them to become.

Do you want peace and happiness? If so do not wish for anything to be different from how you see it as; accept you and people and everything as you see them as.

If you do so you have stopped being an ego that wants to change reality; you are no longer playing God who is creating yourself and the world in your image; now you accept the world as it is and live in it calmly.

WHAT IS MY FIRST JOB? IT IS TO EXPUNGE ALL WISHES FOR IDEALS FROM MY MIND AND REMAIN CALM; AFTER I HAVE DISCIPLINED MY MIND AND IS CALM THEN I CAN TEACH OTHER PEOPLE HOW TO OBTAIN PEACE BY HAVING NO WISHES IN THEIR MINDS

One must first save one's self before one can give other people the instrument with which to save themselves.

What saves one is for one to stop having wishful thinking, stop wishing that one and the world become ideal for they are not going to become ideal.

Our bodies must die (body does not even exist); one must live with what is as it is and stop playing God by trying to make over what is to what one wants it to become.

(This is how Byron Kathy said that she found fearlessness: she no longer had any wishes to change herself and people and merely lives with herself, people and the world as they are. People and the world are as they are supposed to be; people and things exist today because of our past wishes for them to be so.)

WHAT IS DISCIPLINING YOUR MIND?

To discipline your thinking and mind is to make it have no alternative ideal self and just remain calm. What you need to say and do will come to you when a situation that calls for action presents itself. You remain calm with no ego ideas in your mind but if you need to say or do something, your whole self, your higher mind, the Holy Spirit will give you what you need to say and do.

You do not have to engage in anticipatory thinking and its anxiety about what you will say and do the next minute or day.

INSTEAD OF WISHING FOR THINGS TO BE DIFFERENT STUDY THEM

The wish for things to be different has roots in the individual's reality; such persons generally inherited crummy bodies that found it difficult to adapt to the tough exigencies of this world and in childhood they wished that they had better bodies and generalized to wishing for better selves, better other people and better everything and that developed into a personality that wishes for things to be better and perfect.  Okay, there was reason for idealism. However, wishing for ideals does not bring ideals into being.

What one now needs to do is accept what is, even if it is crummy and imperfect, and study it. Science is the undertaking to study things as they are without wishing that they are different.

Science is the most realistic endeavor human beings have undertaken so far in their existence on planet earth.  This is because instead of wishing for a better self and world science studies people and their world as they are.

There is no use crying over spilled milk. People are born and will die so there is no use wishing that they lived forever in bodies; the fact is that once born in bodies they will, give or take a hundred years, die.  You study their bodies and come up with medical treatments that make it possible for them to live as well as are possible.  You do not wish for the impossible for if you get into that world of wishing you could be asked: what are people living for, anyway?

People's bodies are like other biological organisms, such as animals and plants; they are the products of their environment; they live, die and their bodies return to the environment that produced them.

YOU ARE NOT YOUR SELF CONCEPT; YOU ARE THE CONCEPTUALIZER OF THE EGO SEPARATED SELF

You are not your self-concept; you are not the separated self-housed in body; you are not big or small, not ideal and perfect or imperfect; you are outside space, time and matter.

In your true state you are part of unified spirit self; you, along with other sons of God, decided to seem separated from God (the whole self)and invented the world of space, time and matter and now seem to live in it.

Since you and other people acted in tandem to invent the separated self you and other people can also decide not to identify with the ego separated self and deny that you are body and identify with a bodiless self, the son of God who is as God created him, one with God. In oneness with God you are holy, sinless, innocent, eternal, permanent and changeless. In separation you are mortal, powerless and nothing.

Outside identification with your body you will experience your true self but inside body you are influenced by body and society.

The ego separated self is limited (hence you want to make it seem powerful and ideal) and is not who you are.

Let go of identification with the ego and body and keep your mind calm, emptied of all ego thinking and identifications and you experience your true self, the son of God.

THE THREE SELVES AND THREE WORLDS

The son of God is formless but in as much as you want to see yourself in form you can see him, you and all of us, in forms. At present we see ourselves in forms made of matter (matter is light made dense).

When the son of God seem to have separated from him and invented a different self, one in human body (densified light), God reinvented him in light form, the Christ self.

We, thus, have our present selves,  self in dense matter, and another self, selves in light forms (light is not matter but is pure energy hence the self in light form lasts for trillions of years, lasts for as long as the physical universe of space, time and matter lasts).

There are now three worlds, one of whom is real and the other two not real, with one close enough to reality that it might be called real world.

The three worlds and selves are:

  1. Our present self in dense body in our dense world; this is unreal self and unreal world.
  2. The Christ self in light form in the reinvented world of light forms; it is our current world in light forms; it is also not real but it approximates heaven's reality and might be called the real world.
  3. Our formless selves in formless unified spirit self; this is our real selves, the sons of God in how God created us, one with him and each other; this is our state in eternity, heaven.
