Analysis of Ghana Broadband Strategy

Written by

This book is a SWOT analysis carried out on the Ghana broadband Strategy. Ghana hopes to achieve a broadband penetration rate of more than 50% by 2015. The ICT driver recognized here is the broadband internet. Can they achieve this feat? This book analyses the policy document and makes recommendations based on lessons learnt from broadband strategies of Finland, and Australia. There is also a comparison made between the Ghana broadband strategy with that of India and Pakistan.

This book is a result of a master research carried out in Ghana by the authors Idongesit Williams and Yvonne Botwe. It is a book that will help policy makers in ICT understudy the Ghanaian approach to see how they can either improve on it or learn from their mistakes.

The book is published by Grin germany and can be accessed at; http://www.grin.com/en/e-book/183243/analysis-of-the-proposed-ghana-broadband-strategy#inside

I am originally trained as a Physicist. I studied ICT with specialization in ICT policy at AAU Denmark.Currently, I am researching as a PhD student at AAU Denmark. I am currently researching into a Public Private partnership model that will enable the penetration of current and NGN standards of telecom network technologies in rural areas to develop ICT. I have a back ground knowledge of telecom network technologies, from the physical layer to the application layer. My area of competence covers public regulatory measures that are critical to these layers.
