NOTES ON THE PHYSICAL AND MENTAL SCIENCES

Ozodi Thomas Osuji

The physical sciences study the physical world (matter, energy, space, time) and do so dispassionately, without injecting their wishes as to how things ought to be. Having understood things objectively, science builds on that knowledge to devise technologies to adapt to the world, and to improve it where improvement is possible.

It is clear that in time science would thoroughly understand the human body and use technology (medications, medical devices) to improve it.

WE LIVE IN A SEA OF IMPERSONAL INTELLIGENCE, AKA LIFE FORCE

People would live in improved bodies and with improved bodies the intelligence force that is in them and all around them would operate better than it does in sickly bodies.

Healthy bodies do not make body something important; body is like a car that people use in getting around in the world, from point A to point B; body is used in relating to other people in bodies. When one's body gets old it is laid aside, cremated for it has no independent value and worth.

MIND SCIENCE

Science of mind or mind science uses the scientific method to cool headedly understand how the human mind works; it does not inject wishes as to how mind should work but studies how it works and understands how it does not work well.

For example, in pursuing ideals the mind does not work well and gives the person big, ideal powerful self and fear of not attaining that self becomes a preoccupation in the individual's mind hence anxiety (pursuit of big self leads to all mental disorders, from paranoia to schizophrenia, mania and depression, so, it is better that one did not pursue having ideal self; indeed, it is better that one did not have the ego at all).

HEALTHY MIND

A healthy mind is calm and peaceful and is not filled with wishes of impossible states; it says nothing wishful about how people ought to behave for it knows that people behave in accordance with their bodies, how their bodies allow the life force, the intelligence in them and all around them to behave.

IDEALISM DOES NOT TAKE THE REAL WORLD SERIOUSLY BUT TAKES IMAGINARY WORLD SERIOUSLY

Generally, I do not take the empirical, phenomenal world seriously; to me the empirical, real world is nothing; it is worthless and valueless; it is matter that would return to energy and energy that returns to nothing so the world to me is nothing, not worth any effort to adapt to it.

I do not care for the real world. I use my mind to imagine a better self and better people and better social institutions and world and seek those; I take those imaginary what should be world seriously, but do not take what is seriously.

Because I do not take the real world seriously I do not try to adapt to it and do not do what would enable me to adapt to it.

For example, if you want money you have to take the world of matter, bodies, space and time and the ego seriously, but I do not take those seriously so I do not adapt effectively to the world as it is.

I seek to adapt to the imaginary world and its imaginary ideals and beauties (I imagine living in mansions, surrounded by gold and all the good stuff of this world but to get those you have to expend energy and time to get them, such as mine the earth to get the gold to make your palace glittering and work to get the money to build the stone castles that you wish to live in, unless, of course, you believe that you can use mere wishes to conjure out the mansions and beautiful things you want to have...to believe that mere wishes would give one riches is psychosis).

THE ORIGIN OF MY WISHFUL THINKING IS MY WEAK BODY

My body is weak and cannot take the toughness of this world; my weak body and its mind wishes to escape from the world that made it weak by seeking easy things.

Even sitting down to write or standing up to work (as a cashier, or work in a factory, as I did while at college) makes my body pained and weary; even food makes my body feel pained. These pains disposed my body and its mind to seek magical solutions to the tough things of this world. Of course magical solution is exactly that, magical and does not solve problems in our world. You will remain poor while merely wishing to become rich; to be rich you have to work for it.

WHAT IS A REALISTIC SOLUTION FOR ME?

So, what should I be doing that is realistic to my weak body so as to survive in this world? You do not want to make the stupid mistake of thinking that you can deny the reality of your body, the reality that made you seek ideals and try to negate this world; you can only do what your body can do.

You cannot escape into wooly metaphysics that talks about overcoming this world while living in this world, experiencing the reality of bodily pain, hunger, living in space, time and matter, needing means of transportation to go from A to B but not merely teleporting you to wherever you want to go or conjuring out of thin air the good things of this world, using mere wishes to give you billions of dollars.

You can have billions of dollars if you do what you are good at, what is not mere wishful thinking that has no relevance to people in this world.

Teleportation is the mode of transportation in the world of light forms but that world is not the world of dense matter forms we currently live in. In the world of light forms every wish you have is instantaneously gratified for you; such occurrence is not possible in the world of dense matter where we are limited by matter.

IF YOU PURIFY YOUR MIND, IS EGOLESS AND FEARLESS YOU CAN DO WHAT THOSE IN THE WORLD OF LIGHT FORMS DO

If you stop defending the ego and park your mind in egoless unified self you can use your mind,  even while on earth, to do what folks in the world of light forms do; but very few persons (Jesus Christ did) have attained that level of spiritual evolution; we might as well not talk about that level of being.

People like my friend Dr. Olumba retain their egos and pride but wish to accomplish what only those in egoless, Christ state accomplish and, naturally, do not accomplish them. Olumba's thirty years (or forty or a life time) of wishing to be enlightened and wealthy will not make him, you so if you retain your ego.

If you retain your ego and work with it, as Americans do, you will become a billionaire, such as the egoistic idiot called Donald Trump.

Trying to merely use your mind to get what you want is impossible in this world; as long as you are an ego living in body you cannot use your mind to conjure out things; it is only possible for egoless light bodies, for Christ selves.

NORMAL FOLKS BODIES ARE ADAPTIVE TO THE EXIGENCIES OF THIS WORLD

What are called normal people inherited bodies that can do the play and work of this world and not feel pained and weary so they are not seeking escape from bodily activities, no escape from work; they enjoy the work of this world; they are at home in this world; they can stand on their feet for eight hours and thereafter go have fun after that instead of crying out in the pain that is in their legs and bodies in general, pain asking  them to leave the activities giving them pain  or else they collapse and die from not being realistic to  their bodily nature.

(During my first year at the University of Oregon,  age 19, I was lucky to obtain a job at a factory; that job paid handsomely; we had to stand on our legs to do the work; I could not stand on my leg for two hours without feeling enormous pain; I endured the work for two days and quit; thereafter, I obtained a job in the student bookstore as a cashier; I had to stand on my feet, by the cash register, I felt tremendous pain on my feet and after a week quit. I subsequently only sought work that I did while sitting down, clerical jobs that did not pay that much. I have somatic pain from my inherited medical disorders, cytochrome c oxidase deficiency and spondylolysis.)

NEUROTIC IDEALISTS INHERITED BODIES THAT ARE IN PAIN AND NEED ESCAPE FROM PAIN

Those who indulge in excessive idealistic thinking inherited bodies that give them pain and they then use their minds and imaginations to wish for better bodies, and better everything in life and in the process live in the imaginary ideal world but not in the real world. In the ideal world they do not do what they have to do to give them what they want but merely wish it. They generally end up poor and miserable persons.

WHAT IS HEALTHY IS TO ACEPT YOUR BODY AND ITS LIMITATIONS AND GIVE UP THE BIG EGO THAT IN CHILDHOOD YOU HAD POSITED TO BE A MAGIC WAND THAT ENABLED YOU DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO TO SURVIVE IN THIS TOUGH WORLD

You must give up wishful thinking; you must give up ideals and desire for things to be better, for all your wishes would not make this world change and accommodate your desires.

You must give up the big, powerful, ideal self-concept and self-image that in childhood you posited to enable you to magically change your life, for it is not going to do so.

The big self gives you anxiety from fearing not becoming it.

THE WORLD IS OUR CONCEPTION; WE CAN CHANGE OUR CONCEPTION OF IT

The world is your physical and mental game; we can give up the mentally wished for grandiose self. In fact, we can choose and have no ego self whatsoever.

Do not defend a false, big neurotic self and be quiet; be defenseless of any kind of ego; please do not think of what other people are thinking of you or saying of you; only the false big self does so.

Normal people do what neurotics do but in a very minor manner so it is not an  issue for them; therefore, leave them alone and don't tell them what to do or not do; do what you have to do to live in peace and joy. To live in peace and happiness you have to give up your ego.

Every person you see is doing what his mind in body enables him to do; you cannot change him and magically make him behave differently.

Concentrate on undoing your own ego, unlearning your ego and become egoless and live peacefully and model peace for all people (peace comes from living egolessly).

People will beat their paths to your door to learn how you found peace; so, first find peace and happiness.

Peace and joy is obtained if you do not have an ego and do not defend what you call your ego self; the ego is not who you are;  the ego is a false self you had hoped would enable you to adapt to this world but it does not help you one bit.

At present you have forgotten your real self and do not know who it is. If you give up the ego and stop defending the ego, and go into meditation you might gain a glimpse of your real self.

Your self is part of God; it is the son of God, part of unified spirit self; unified spirit self cannot be understood with words for speech is an ego thing and the ego cannot understand God and his son (they do not have perception; they have perfect knowledge of their oneness).
