The consequenes of Nigerians cowardice

Ozodi Thomas Osuji

Every behavior the individual indulges in has consequences for him and for society. Nigerians and Africans are living in abject fear. They want to live at all costs. They are afraid of harm and death. To avoid harm and death they are willing to tolerate slavery and abuse by other people.

They tolerated slavery from Arabs and from Europeans in the Americas. Historically, their lives were nothing but tolerating other people’s enslavement of them.

Now they seem to be ruling themselves. They have continued with that fear based lives. They are afraid and want to live at all costs.

Their supposed political leaders are aware that they are fearful cowards who would not fight back and thus decided to steal from them. Nigerian leaders are nothing but criminals in government. They actually seek political offices to go steal the people’s moneys. The police, judges and civil servants are all thieves. Nigeria is thieves land.

The people tolerate this macabre situation where those who are supposed to be in political power transform their positions to avenues from where they steal. Just about all the money that accrues to the different levels of governments in Nigeria is stolen by those in government. The masses tolerate this absurd situation.

The politicians, like other Nigerians, are cowards; they are afraid of death; they know that other people are like them, cowards who are afraid of harm and death. Thus, the politicians brazenly steal from the people aware that the people are too chicken to do anything about it.

If the people complain the politicians stick their thugs and or corrupt police and military to them and get them killed. To avoid been killed the people tolerate the incredible abuse they are living under.

The people realizing that they are cowards who are afraid of harm and death know that if they point a gun at any Nigerian that he would give to them whatever they ask for, for they do not want to fight and if necessary die fighting for justice.

Thus, the army of unemployed Nigerians has become high way robbers and kidnappers. They literally exist to steal from each other.

They stop cars and take things like smart phones, watches and wallets from the passengers; the passengers meekly give to the brigands whatever they ask for because they are afraid of fighting them lest they are harmed or killed.

What we have here is a people who have chosen to live in fear of their leaders and those leaders do nothing for them and the people steal from each other. Both the leaders and the led are cowards; they are criminals prying on each other.

What should a person say upon beholding this sorry situation? The person must acknowledge that Nigerians and Africans receive the consequences of being cowards.

If Africans did not fear death and decided to fight for social justice they would rise up and chase out their thieving leaders and embark on actually governing themselves right, doing what serves each other’s good.

Since the so-called Nigerian politicians are cowards if the people rise up, arm themselves and come after them, like cowards, they would run away for their dear lives. Cowards do not stand their grounds and fight to death, they run away.

As it is, Africans behave like sub human beings; each African is seeking to survive but does not care for others survival. Their supposed leaders instead of working to improve them reap them off.

Nigerian public schools are not maintained and have literally collapsed. Instead of working to improve their schools for all Nigerians those Nigerians who can afford it send their children to private schools. The private schools reap them off by charging them outrageous fees; their graduates, like the graduates of public schools, are virtual illiterates.

What is going on in Nigeria serves Nigerians right.  If Nigerians were not cowards they could stop living in fear and seize the bull by the harms; they could improve their society today, not tomorrow. But to do so means fighting for justice and in such fights some will die. But no Nigerian wants to die so they tolerate the insult they live in.

Nigerians dreadful situation is exactly what they deserve; a people have the government they have.

In my opinion, the rest of the world should close their borders to Africans and let Africans stay in Africa and struggle to overcome the fear that holds them down and work to have clean governments in Africa. The rest of the world should not take the consequences of Africans fearfulness.

I say this because for quite some time now my relatives in Africa bug me for financial help. It is give me money and or buy this or that for them. It is one way giving; I give but am not given anything in return. They tell me that nothing works in their country; they tell me of how high way robbers take their smart phones and stuff and ask me to buy others for them.

This song and dance has been going on for quite some time now.  Finally, I realized that they are giving me the consequences of their fearfulness. They want me to take the consequences of their cowardly life styles. They refuse to fight to improve their society and instead expect me to help them out.

Since they are college educated why not overcome the fear that makes them tolerate the ugly situation they live in and work to bring about a clean government in the country, I asked them?

They told me that if you demand good governance the criminals that rule the land would kill you. This is true but does that then mean that they should tolerate the criminals’ rule in perpetuity and have relatives outside the country always come to their rescue with this or that need fulfilment?

I decided that enough is enough. Let them rise up and work to improve their polity and take the consequences of that needed struggle. If they are killed so be it. You cannot make omelets without breaking eggs.

There is no need living like rats just because you are afraid of death. Improve your world or take the consequences of the fear that deters you from struggling to improve your world.

Henceforth, please do not ask me to take the consequences of your fearful life style. Where I am is racism and I struggle with that racism daily; I do not give in to racism and play the victim and leave it at that. We are given bad hands for us to struggle to improve them.

Many Nigerians come to the white man’s racist land and do what they do in Nigeria, live with that racism. They wait for some persons to fight for the crumbs of bread that the white man gives to black folks; they seek those crumbs of bread.

They ought to fight the white man for social justice or don’t bother coming to his world to live as the dogs the white man wants them to live as. There are no beds of roses anywhere in the world; we must make our beds wherever we are.

Fear is an intrinsic part of human beings; it has useful aspects, for it alerts people to danger and forces them to take measures to survive. Functional as fear is, however, it is also dysfunctional.

The individual’s mind can be so permeated by fear that all his thinking and behaviors are affected by fear. Fear rules some individuals’ lives and circumscribes all they do.

In the case of Africans fear makes them kowtows to abusive governments and in the past to slavery. They have to strive to overcome some of their fear.

It does not mean that they would become totally fearless; I doubt that one can live in body without some fear. One can reduce fear and resolve not to allow fear to dispose one to tolerate odious situations; one can accept fighting and if necessary dying for what one considers right.

I recommend that all Nigerians, Africans and all human beings above the age of eighteen should be required to possess guns and to use those guns to shoot and kill any criminal that tries to rob them. Criminals are fearful cowards; if they feel that they can rob you and get away with it they will do so but if they know that you have the means to kill them and will not hesitate in doing so they will leave you alone. Therefore, each person ought to have a gun for self-protection. This is the wisdom of the second amendment to the United States Constitution.

Each individual has to ask his self this question: what exactly am I living for? Am I living for the sake of being alive, even if it means being like a mere animal?

If all you want to do is live like a mere animal perhaps you have a right to do so. As for me, I would rather live on the condition of doing what I like doing. The social environment must be sufficiently clean to allow me to pursue the actualization of my potential.

I would rather die than live just for the sake of living.   Given this philosophy, I am willing and ready to die fighting for social justice. If you prefer to be alive in an unjust world I do not care for you. I do not care whether you lived or died. As far as I am concerned it is either a person lives for something useful for society or he is of no relevance to me. I do not care whether you lived or died if you are not fighting for justice. I have no respect for slaves who tolerate odious situations just so they stay alive.

Fight your slave master and if in doing so you died you lived a hero’s existence.

Political realism means the rule over the weak by the powerful; it also means the weak banding together to wrestle power from the powerful and ruling them. Nature did not ordain for anyone to rule other persons.

Politics is the struggle to determine who rules whom and who decides the allocation of public goods in a particular human polity. So, get involved and struggle to bring about equitable distribution of the goods that your society offers to its people.

Do not leave it to some people to take the lion share of your society’s public goods. And if out of fear you leave it to some to take what belongs to all people you are a coward and deserve not getting anything.

If you are poor you deserve poverty! You can always decide that poverty is not good for you and fight to get a fair share of nature’s bounties.

Don’t come crying to me for help, ever. I am done reinforcing Africans fear caused shiftlessness.

I would like to have some smart folks tell me why some persons are born with supreme belief in their personal superiority. This belief generally has nothing to do with such persons' accidents of birth; their parents may be poor yet they have such beliefs.

My parents are working class; however, in traditional Igbo society we were at the top of the food chain; we were and still are the high priests of Amadioha (in Hindu social categories we are of the Brahmin class...come to think of it, whenever I am in a Hindu temple they generally see me as a Brahmin, a natural priest).

In the contemporary world we are certainly not part of the rich and powerful. Our apparent lower class situation did not prevent me from having supreme self-confidence. I simply believed and assumed that I am superior to all people. I have been so since I became self-aware, say, age six. At elementary school the other kids, to me, were like monkeys for me to civilize them. I was not particularly smart at school although I was always in the top five students in my class. I would not say that my self-confidence has anything to do with academic attainments, it was simply there.

In secondary school there was one other boy who out-competed me academically, the rest were not in my league.

At the university I felt top notch (by merit I could have gone to any university in the world, be it Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard; financial considerations led me to go to American state universities).  I did not compare myself with other college students but with professors. In graduate school I considered myself superior to most of my professors...I reached that conclusion because I had close interactions with them; I would go to their offices and talked to them on assorted subjects; I found that I knew more about the subjects that they taught than they!

My behavior at college could give folks the impression that I am from a rich family, but I was not. Why would they get that impression? I used to save my money and during the summers go on grand tours of wherever I wanted to see.  I would buy plane tickets and go to London, Paris, Rome, Geneva, Frankfort, Hamburg, Vienna, Venice, Washington DC, New York; you name it and I had visited it.

While making my grand tours of European capitals I would feel superior to the natives! And this included those that mankind considered important persons. In Rome, for example, I went to Saint Peter's Basilica. While there I wanted to see the pope. But a mere college student is not allowed to go see the pontiff. Thereafter, I said to myself: who the hell is he, I know more about Christianity than he does and he ought to be seeking audience with me! Anyway, I was pissed that I could not see the man and had a little chat with him on Christianity (my parents' religion, a religion that I rejected at age fourteen).

In Washington DC I visited the White House. Ronald Reagan was the president. I felt reduced in stature being in the same house with the president of the USA for I believed that he was an empty headed idiot.   As we talk, we have Donald J. Trump in the White House.  To me that man is a dunce; I would feel insulted having him around me.

You get the idea. I have always felt superior to all people, not to most people but to all people. Why?  In mental health categories, Alfred Adler said that when a person feels inferior he compensates with superiority and fancies himself superior to other people. That may well be true. I consider my body inferior but I certainly do not consider my mind inferior to other minds. So, is my feeling of superiority merely ego compensatory?

Psychiatry has a class of mental disorders called delusion disorder. Here, a person rejects his reality and posits an imaginary reality and identify with it. An ordinary guy could reject that reality and want to see himself as better than other persons and come to believe in his wished for self and act as such. Thus, he is seen as having a deluded self-concept.

I know that there are deluded persons; there are schizophrenics (those have bizarre delusions as well as hallucinations, usually auditory); there are manic persons (they usually have wish for social importance and during florid stages of mania believe their wishes hence are deluded, they may or may not also have hallucination in one or the five senses).

I do not have mental disorder. If I have anything it is some kind of anxiety disorder. How? I wanted to be ideal; I felt anxious from the prospect of not being ideal.  For example, many students would be happy with, say, B grade but such grade made me feel imperfect. I had to have straight A grades to feel good or else I felt anxious.

In certain types of neurosis, such as obsessive-compulsive, avoidant and dependent personality disorders, there is desire to be ideal and perfect and fear of not been perfect hence free floating anxiety. Karen Horney, in her seminal book, Neurosis and Human Growth delineated the nature of neurosis.  Some of what she said applied to me. I was totally invested in been perfect; I took pride in perfection and felt anxious from the prospect of not been perfect.

I think that I had some kind of anxiety disorder secondary to fear of not being perfect. However, when I stopped seeking perfection and accepted myself as is, no condition posited before self-acceptance, that free floating anxiety went away.

Fear holds people down and prevents them from living fully. You can use your mind to counter your body's sense of threat and not feel fearful. When an animal organism senses danger its body throws up certain neuro-excitatory chemicals, such as adrenalin and those increase the workings of his visceral organs such as his heart, lungs and nervous system, urging him to either run away or fight the perceived source of danger. A lion or a person pointing a gun at you arouses fear in you. Fear response appears built into animals. Be that as it may, you can use your mind to overrule the urge to run away. I remember once in Los Angeles, walking down the streets of Hollywood, a teenage Latino boy ran towards me and pointed a gun at me asking for my wallet. I simply ignored him. I watched him closely to see his next move. I have training in martial arts; I was trying to figure out a way to take him out. I did not give in to fear that momentarily flitted through my body.  I do not give in to fear. If fear arousing stimuli come my way I try to stay calm and deal with them without fear or flight.

In Zen and the Art of the Motorcycle, the author told us that a Zen master, especially the Samurai, never gives in to fear and or anger; and that he does not act when he is in a state of fear or anger. If you called a samurai what folks call an insulting name and he felt initial anger he walks away. He does not necessarily forgive you. When he is calm he challenges you to a sword fight, duel, and in it calmly kills you. To kill in a state of calmness is valued by Samurai whereas to do anything out of anger is considered unmanly.

I live by the samurai's moto. In fear or anger I do not do anything, certainly nothing momentous!  I only act when I am in a fearless and anger-less state of mind, when my body is totally calm and has no excitation in it.

My question has not been answered. What makes some people believe that they are superior to other people? The belief can be idle or buttressed by facts. I am certainly very bright; I did well at school and work.  So my belief in superiority is not merely an idle wish.

If you think that you are smart just come to me and try to chat with me. I do not care whether the subject is physics, philosophy, psychology etc. most people run from my presence for the level of information that flows from me scares them.

How could a person know as much as I do, teachers used to ask when I was in school? Tom, where did you get all this knowledge, my elementary and secondary school teachers used to ask me.

For example, right now, on the spot, without looking at any book I could give you the History of Greece, Rome and Britain and other Western European countries.

I could teach you most of what you need to obtain a bachelor's degree in Physics without looking at any book.

You literally would have to run away when I open my mouth and start talking, for you would feel that a god or oracle of some sort is talking.

I do read a lot; once I read a book the information stays in my mind. All I know is that I possess incredible amount of information

The point, however, is that my sense of superiority cannot be seen as based on idle desire to be superior. In the world of knowledge I am up there. But that is beside the question for I have seen a few other knowledgeable persons in my life and they do not feel superior to other persons.

Consider my relation with Africans. I consider Africans as uncivilized apes that I need to civilize. Consider my relationship with white folks. I consider white folks as barbarians for me to civilize.

The only human groups that I respect are Asians.  Asians, be they Chinese, Japanese, Cambodians, Vietnamese, Filipinos and Indians come across as wise persons. I see them as not only book smart but as persons with wise souls.

Years ago, I was in a hotel and downstairs was psychic fair going on. Out of curiosity I went and paid a psychic fifty dollars to tell me who I was in a past life. He said that I was a Chinese Buddhist monk. May be that is true or maybe not; who cares about reincarnation? All I know is that I have ultimate respect for Asians; I see them as smart and wise folks. I see white folks as scientific and technological but emotionally infantile; I see Africans as raw animals with nothing in their heads, a people to be given scientific culture and become civilized.

This essay was motivated by recent events in my life. My girlfriend increasingly talks about the many dimensions of being. So, I asked her to explain to me what the dimensions are. She said that we live in the three dimensional universe, and gave me the standard idea that we have height, width and depth; she proceeded to say that there is fourth, fifth and sixth and seventh dimensions. She did not explain the other dimensions satisfactorily.

I googled the dimensions of being and read up on what folks write about them. There is a book called the law of one that talks about seven dimensions.

In my research on the dimensions of being, I ran into a Japanese fellow called Ryuho Okawa; he wrote a book called the nine dimensions. I read it. I spent a weekend watching YouTube videos of the man. He talked shop about the nature of people as spiritual beings; some of what he said makes sense and some are mere conjectures; in fact much of what he said is fictional; figments of his imagination that apparently he believes to be true. I shook my head and said that he would have made a good science fiction writer.

What got my attention is the man's claim to be God (which he called El Cantare). He said that El Cantare is the god in charge of our supposed nine dimensional solar system. He posits that each galaxy has its own over god and that the entire universe has an Omni god.  The man talks about twenty something dimensions multiverse, each universe with its gods.

Ryuho Okawa reminds me of the Japanese American physicist, Michio Kaku; Professor Kaku mixes good physics with his fictions on superstrings and its so-called many dimensional universes.

Okawa claimed that he sent Jesus, Buddha, and Mohammed, Moses, Confucius and other supposed enlightened people to the world. His seeming grandiose claims got my attention. My antenna was raised. I asked myself: is this man psychotic?

In psychosis folks often claim to be god. So, is the man lunatic?  If you have worked at psychiatric hospitals you probably have run into schizophrenics getting into fist fights when two or more of them claim to be God or Jesus Christ; the two false gods cannot stand each other; they duke it out to prove who the real god is.

Grandiose egos battle it out to decide whose ego is god and who is not. Working in psychiatric institutions can be humorous!  You can see a poor chap, in mania's florid phase claiming to be the richest man in the world or simply tell you that he is Bill Gates; same thing, he is the richest man in the world; or claims to be the best musician in the world or tell you that he is John Lennon. If you want to laugh be around psychotics and listen to their outrageous claims.

Listen to the disheveled schizophrenic, disorganized type, walking down the street; the chances are that he is claiming to be god and he is talking to his minions.

Is it because human beings feel existentially inadequate and inferior that they compensate with false superiority or is there something to their claim to be god?

I put on my diagnostic hat and tried to diagnose Lord El Cantare. I watched over twenty hours of videos of him talking to see if I could see signs of schizophrenia (say, paranoid type). I honestly did not see signs of psychosis in him.

So, why is the man claiming to be God? I talked with my girlfriend and she, in her wise way, threw some light on the phenomenon. She said that there is one God in the universe and that by accident or design some people experience that God and know that he is each of us and that such experience may lead a person to claim to be God and see other persons as not quite god, yet, but potential gods.

In mysticism (see Evelyn Underhill, Mysticism; William James, Varieties of Religious Experience; Richard Burke, Cosmic Consciousness) the mystic says that he is God and that you are god (see Meister Eckhart, Saint John of the Cross, Teresa of Avila etc.).

However, given how spiritually underdeveloped most people are, she said that she can understand how a man who has experienced God could call himself God and see other people as not God.

I told her that I have had most of the experiences that folks associate with spirituality but do not see myself as God. She smiled and said that I do feel like I am God. She reminded me that I had told her that I see me as one of a kind that comes through the universe once every ten thousand years!

Master Ryuho Okawa is not crazy, certainly not in psychiatric categories. You can take that feedback from me to the bank for my diagnostic skills is second to none!

Why do some persons have a feeling that they are superior to other people? Is there some truth to their claim or are they full of it?

Why, for example, do I have total belief, actually knowledge, that our true self is love? I believe in my soul that our true self is part of what I call universal love? I believe that love is the glue that unifies all being into one state of being.

I believe that for some reasons, say, pride, each of us decided to separate from love (that is, unified spirit state). No one can separate from love. But we can seem to do so in dreams.

I believe that our world is the dream of the opposite of love (opposite of union). On earth each of us does hateful things to other persons.

In unified spirit state we only know love.  I believe that we are sane when we love one another. I believe that we are insane when we hate one another and do hurtful things to one another.

I believe that in spirit all of us are the same and equal. However, in the dream of separation most people see themselves as different; in the world of differences some people are more aware of our inherent sameness and equality and tend to love people more than other persons.

I would rather die than harm another human being. In my entire life I have stolen a couple of pennies from my grandfather's room and felt so guilty that I had to make amends for it.

Perhaps, it is the compendium of acceptance of love and morality, and seeing those qualities absent in other people that led me to see me as superior to those around me? I do not know.

I am incapable of harming any human being for I intuitively know that love is really what matters in our lives. (I am in the process of editing and publishing a 1200 pages book called living from love.)

I ask, again, what is it that makes some human beings to feel superior to others? I do not know the answer to my question.

In your explanation, please do not employ biological, psychiatric and psychological categories for those do not satisfactorily explain the phenomenon; at any rate, I understand such explanations; I am looking for explanations that I do not, yet, understand.

I am looking for philosophical, religious and spiritual explanations of why some persons feel superior to other persons. Such persons feel so even though they accept that all human beings, in spirit, are the same and coequal. For example, I accept that in essence you and I are equal but in the here and now world I do not see you as my equal.

In eternity we are equal but in time we seem different, with some more advanced than others. Why do some human beings have this sense of superiority to other human beings?  Could you please present your perspective on the question with cogent arguments and or evidence?

The terrorist figures that people want to live in egos and bodies; he figures that if he randomly killed a few of them that the rest of them would be intimidated, scared and to avoid living in terror  kowtow to whatever he asks them to do. So, he kills people indiscriminately.

As long as people want to live in bodies and ego separated self-concepts they will have fear of threats to their desired bodies and egos.

As long as people have fear of harm and death they would be prone to intimidation by terrorists (terrorist governments, terrorist Muslim jihadists and terrorist criminals such as kidnappers who kidnap folks and demand ransom money before they are released and other forms of terrorists).

The only way to stop terrorism is to get people not to value their egos and bodies. If you do not value your ego and body then it does not matter if any one killed you.

This is the Gnostic mystic's solution to the issue of terrorism; it is escapist from the realities of this world.

If you allow terrorists and criminals to kill you and you exit from this world that has not eliminated terrorism and criminality; evil persons will still be around terrorizing and stealing from other people.

Jesus preached forgiveness and allowed murderers to murder him and he forgave them; two thousand years later murderers are still killing people.

Forgiveness does not solve the problem of human evil.

The problem with not valuing one's body and ego is that it means not valuing life on earth. If people did not value life in ego and body there would be no human society and civilization.

Society and civilization exists because people value living in bodies and egos; practically everything people do is to protect their egos and bodies.

So, if you persuade people not to value their egos and bodies so as not to allow intimidation by terrorists you end human civilization.

The most realistic solution to terrorism is to allow people to value their bodies and egos and train them to kill terrorists.

Every person above age twelve should have military training and have guns and kill the terrorists (and criminals) before they killed them.

It is kill or be killed but do not allow any terrorist to intimidate you.  Since some people are always tempted to terrorize folks the best way to deal with them is to manage them; we must manage terrorism by arming and fighting and killing them.

In the present, the West must go to war and wipe out Jihadists; President Obama made a mistake in cuddling Muslim jihadists; in the long run terrorist criminals and organizations must be eliminated.

Terrorist governments must be overthrown and replaced with governments that made society peaceful for folks to seek ways to actualize their innate potentials.

My ideal society is like ancient Sparta where all male children were trained in military matters and armed so that they could collectively and individually defend themselves and the state.

Man is a dangerous predatory animal; you must not pussyfoot with him; you must be ready to kill him when he threatens other men.

We are prisoners of the mind's fears

The human mind is capable of accepting fears of what folks should not be afraid of; for example, they can assume that ghosts exist, fear ghosts and have nightmares where ghosts or unseen things attack them. Mind, in effect, can have fears that enslave the individual and make his behaviors restricted and circumscribed.

In day life people have fear of this or that and those restrict their range of behaviors. And what they are afraid of are things they should not be afraid of, harmless things, really.

If the human mind is liberated from fear arousing beliefs people would behave like the gods that they are but deny, project out and worship as if they are outside them.

In left mind understanding you work at the understanding of this world. In Right mind understanding you reinterpret what the left mind had worked at understanding, and reinvent it; you do not make an effort in right mind thinking; the ideas just come to you.

In right mind thinking you wish for something and it happens instantaneously (as in near death experience and out of body experience when you wish to return to your body and you immediately reenter your body).

If your book is perfect nobody would read it for people are imperfect and cannot read perfect books; so, your book must be imperfect to be read by imperfect people.

The illusions of body, space and time are one; if you accept one you accept the others. If you let go of one you let go of the others.

If you do not see you as body then you do not see you as living in space and time.  Overlooking the world means overlooking that you are a body in space and time; you cannot take anything done in the world as real.

Hence forgive the world means overlook the dream that body, matter, space and time are real. You must overlook the ghastly things done in our world for they are done in a dream.

Alternatively, you stay in our world and try to improve it via idealism; but improving shit still makes it shit. You cannot improve the human body for it is shit that will die and rot. You can overlook it and escape from body and see you in light body and finally know you as bodiless self.

In pain your body is real to you. This means that there is no love in the world for how could there be love in the world when you live in pain? It means that there is no God to protect you, his son. It means that God is dead; it means that God has abandoned you, his son; it means that your ego and body are now real to you. Thus, pain is an attempt to kill God and abandon his son, you.

If you deny that you are a separated self and deny body and space and time you cannot be in physical pain.

Pain is a device we made to use to deny love (and since God is love to deny God) and make our egos and the world of dreams real to us.

Pain seems real to us in body and in the dream of separation but when we deny that we are separated selves, bodies and deny space and time we realize that there is no pain in the world of light forms and no pain in formless state.

In the meantime, you must realize that whenever you are in pain you gave it to you to make your body real to you and make your ego real and make separation, space and time real to you; you give you pain to kill God and deny his existence, deny that all is love and prove that only the opposite of love/God exist, ego.

Pain is your game to prove that you as ego exist and that God is dead.

The sound I hear in my apartment makes space, time and matter real to me; it means that something can harm me; it means that I am a separated self in body that can be harmed.

If I am not a separated self in body, in space and time I cannot be harmed.

The sound is my mind's effort to convince me that I am ego and body and can be harmed by nonexistent ghosts.

I am not body; my real self does not live in space and time and cannot be harmed by nonexistent ghosts so the sounds are a waste of my time; I cannot be in fear.

Fear is an attempt to make ego and body real; fear makes space, time (and body that can be harmed) real. All these are games by the son of God to make his separated self, the ego in body seem real.

Change your self concept and know happiness

Ozodi Thomas Osuji

Everywhere on planet earth people want to be happy; the means for happiness is in them while they go looking for it outside them.

If you want to be happy do this: change your self-concept and self-image. It is as simple as that.

Each of us has a self-concept which he sees in image form; he made it with the help of all people.  He defends his self-concept because he believes that it is who he is.

The self-concept is associated with body (and society); one can see that bodies can be harmed and destroyed, die; thus, one fears the death of one's self concept and defends it with fear (and anger shame, guilt, pride, repression, suppression, denial, projection, displacement, dissociation, compensation with a big self, rationalization, sublimation, reaction-formation, avoidance, fantasy, minimizing and the other ego defense mechanisms).  People live to defend their egos; some do so flexibly whereas others do it rigidly.

Here is the truth.  The world you see with your physical eyes is a dream, literally, not figuratively; it does not exist but seems to exist.

The ego separated self that adjusts to the world of dreams is not real; the ego in body is a fictional self, a dream self, it does not exist.

As long as one sleeps and dreams the ego self is used to dream and seems real to one and one defends it.

Relative to the needs of this world, some bodies and egos are healthier and adapt better to the exigencies of this world; some people's bodies and egos (both not real) are not healthy and do not adapt well to this world.

Regardless of whether your ego and body adapts well to this world or not, it is not real; it does not exist; it has not existed for a second but to you it exists; we defend our egos and our defense makes them seem to exist for us.

You already have a body and ego otherwise you would not see you in this world of dreams. What you now need to do is change your ego self-concept.

Change your self-concept aka ego from rigid to flexible self.  Do not take your ego and body seriously; see it as a dream figure that you use in dreaming in a dreaming world; believe that you have a different self, a self  not in body, not in form, a self that is a part of the universal consciousness/intelligence that folks call God (God is nameless).

See your ego and body as something with which you play in the dream that is this world. Do not worry about what other people say of it. It is not real, remember, so why bother with what other unreal egos and bodies say of your unreal ego and body?

Unreality liked or not liked is still unreality. You are using your unreal ego and body to play in the world of nothing called planet earth. If you do so your ego and body would now be flexible and you would have relative happiness and peace.

If you desire perfect happiness and peace all you need to do is entirely give up your identification with your body and ego self-concept; accept that you do not have a body and ego and then relax.

You do not have ego in body; you do have another self; what that different self is you cannot know for as long as you identify with the false ego and body.

Let go of the body and ego and you would escape from our world; first, you see you in your present form in a world that still looks like our world of forms but here everything is in light forms; and, finally, you escape to a formless world, what folks call heaven.

Heaven is beyond words; no one can put it into words.  It is total peace and joy. If you are in that world you would not be aware of our present world or the world of light forms.

After experiencing formless heaven you return to our world of bodily forms but from now on know that you are not body and ego so you do not defend your ego and body and you live flexibly, happily and peacefully.

Heaven is not earned for it was never lost; it is your home and the self you have in it is your real self. The only requirement to experience your real self, part of unified spirit self, is for you to give up seeing you as the ego in body, dense or light body.

You do not have to be perfect to return to your real self and heaven; all you have to do is give up seeing you as a body and ego.

People on earth know that their bodies and egos are nothing yet they value them; they want to make their egos and bodies seem important even though they are not. Human civilization is an attempt to make what is not important, ego and body seem important.

You and your ego and the world you live in do not exist; therefore, do not take you and the world seriously. Play with your ego and body and play with the world but do not take them seriously.

Those who take their selves and the world seriously are at a lower level of evolution, they are closer to animals than to what human beings could be; they are just evolving out from the animal stage to the human level but are not yet quite human; they are the so-called normal persons; they are the ones used to fight wars and work in factories; they are not yet fully human beings.

There is one real world, unified spirit state, aka heaven and there are our world and the world of light forms; the world of dense and light matters is unreal, are fictions, illusions, dreams.

Some people talk about seven or nine or even twenty dimensions of being and go on to describe those dimensions. The fact is that they have no evidence of the existence of those dimensions; and even if they exist only the unified spirit is real, the rest are illusions for they are not permanent.

Heaven is formless and needs to be formless; it is from its formlessness that the world of forms, our world of matter and the world of light forms are made.

When you identify with formless spirit self you would no longer know fear and the other ego defense mechanisms; however, you are not in that world; you are in our false world and have a false ego and bodily self and must defend that self with fear and the other ego defense mechanisms.

Your level of fear and ego defenses would become flexible if you accept that you have another self, a formless self; you cannot eliminate the ego and its defenses, such as fear, for as long as you live in body and identify with body, space and time.

Occasionally, you should go into meditation and deliberately deny the reality of your ego and body, escape from them and momentarily know bliss.

I just heard from my TV that at Barcelona, Spain, a terrorist had driven a van into crowd of people and killed over thirteen persons and injured hundreds of people (some of whom may die).

People are running all over the place trying to protect themselves and avoid getting killed by the terrorist(s); they are doing whatever they could to defend and protect their dear lives in body and ego.  These defenses make their bodies real to them.

US TV stations, no doubt, would talk about this killing all day long; all the other talk about dumb Trump's racist response to the events at Charlottesville, Virginia, will be out of the window, for today anyway, to be revisited another day (the former Vice President, Al Gore has just asked Trump to resign; Democrats plan to introduce a bill in Congress to Censure Trump for racism; censure has been tried only one other time, when in 1834 the Senate Censured President Andrew Jackson).

Terrorists' attacks arouse fear of harm and death in people; it makes them feel that they are bodies and egos that the terrorists can destroy.

If people can be destroyed that makes separation seem real; if separation is real it makes God dead and nonexistent.

If, indeed, God exists, it means that God does not love his sons; God has abandoned his sons to random killing by terrorists.

Terrorism is an attempt to prove that God does not exist and if he ever did exist is now either dead or does not care for his separated children.

God exists and loves his children. Separation cannot occur and has not occurred. The son of God merely sleeps and dreams that he is in a world of separated selves where he is in body and ego and can be harmed, an impossible world.

Terrorists randomly kill innocent people; their goal is to give people the impression that they can kill any one; they want to arouse fear of been killed by the terrorists in people and intimidate them, get them to do what the terrorists want them to do, such as convert to Islam or do what terrorist governments want them to do.

My goal is not to write about terrorism in the traditional manner but to stress that terrorists arouse fear in people and that fear makes people feel like their egos and bodies are real; feeling as egos and bodies they feel separated from God.

They feel abandoned by God or God does not exist; only the ego exists and it must be protected. Terrorism is a means of making separation seem real to us.

The son of God uses terrorism to intimidate his ego mind and feel fear; in feeling fear he makes his ego mind and body real. Terrorism is an elaborate game we employ to make ego and body real and make separation real; and make our world of space, time and matter, illusions, real.

If you are not a body and ego self-concept and therefore not afraid of harm and death can terrorists, religious or other forms, have hold on you?

Terrorists traffic in fear; they propose to harm or kill people and arouse fear in them. They want people to accept their position (in the case of Muslim Jihadists, Islam; in the case of Communists, communism). They succeed if people have fear of intimidation.

If people have no fear terrorists cannot succeed. To have no fear, however, people must not see themselves as egos and bodies but know themselves as spirits so that destroying their bodies would not intimidate them.  No one can hold hostage a person who has no fear of harm and death.

In the here and now world each of us has a self-concept. The self-concept says that he is his body and that he lives in space and time.

The big, grandiose self-image is designed to enable those who feel fragile to adapt to the exigencies of this world. But does the grandiose self-concept help them adapt to the exigencies of this world? If anything, it handicaps them and makes their adaptation filled with secondary fear, more fear than is found in normal persons. Therefore, the grandiose self is useless.

If the big ego self-concept is useless the ego self-concept itself is pointless. The ego self-concept does not exist but seems to exist in our conceptual world.

Our world is a dream world, a conceptual world. We first think it, have ideas of what we want the world to be, believe it and it becomes so for us.   Because it is conceptual it is not real and is a dream.

If you let go of the concepts of who you are, who other people are and what the world is they go away and you would not see you, people in bodies and the world of space, time and matter.

Bodies or matter are putty; they are used by us, sculptors, to shape the world as we want it to become.

We use matter to shape our bodies and use it to shape everything around us. Matter, our bodies included, is a neutral thing we use to play in this world.

The philosophy that I am teaching here leads to letting go of identification with ego and body; that leads to exiting from this world.

People came to this world to be in body and ego. So, what I am teaching is contrary to what people want to do.

I know that people will see themselves as egos and bodies and defend those and as long as they do so would be prone to terrorists' intimidations.

However, if they should think about what I said here they may choose to see themselves as not bodies and egos and stop allowing themselves to be intimidated by terrorists. They may choose, while still in bodies, to live from their real selves, which are eternal formless selves.

In the early twentieth century psychiatry and psychology came into full flowering; they made fun of religion; they reinterpreted religious ideas into psychological language. Religion, for example, defined certain behaviors as evil but psychology saw those behaviors as mere psychopathologies, mental disorders caused by malfunctioning bodies or negative social experience.

Paranoid, narcissistic, antisocial and other personality disorders were explained as behavior disorders.

In the meantime persons with those personality disorders commit mayhem. Adolf Hitler was a paranoid, anti-social and narcissistic personality disordered person. Instead of looking at his evil behaviors, his massacring fifty million people psychoanalysts tell us that he is mentally sick and that his behaviors can be understood as a product of mental disorder.

Donald Trump came along and it was easy enough to see that he is a pathological narcissist. The man seeks attention and admiration from anything that looks like a human being; he is so self-centered that he does not care for other people and cares only about them to the extent that they admire him.  So we dismissed him as a sick narcissist. Then it became evident that the man is a racist and hates nonwhite people. If unchecked, the man would do enormous evil to nonwhite persons.

Like fascist Hitler, Trump is on his way to dictatorship; from that unchecked power he would start killing people.

Trump is an amoral, evil character; he is a hater and potential murderer. He is evidence that personality disorders are manifestations of evil.

Igbo people seek superiority to their neighbors; they look down on them; because they seek deluded superiority they often do harmful things to people; their delusion of superiority leads to their harmful, evil behavior; they often engage in criminality and justify their behaviors because they fancy themselves better than those they steal from. The point is that their delusion disorder leads to their evil anti-social behaviors.

Even the so-called minor personality disorders, such as dependent, avoidant and obsessive compulsive are used to commit evil. The avoidant personality feels anxious around people and withdraws from them. Why? He posited a self that seeks importance; that big self feels that it would not be accepted by other people so it avoids people and in isolation retain it. The shy, anxious neurotic wants to seem superior to people and in pursuit of that delusion harms people.  That is, neurosis leads to evil behaviors.

Serious mental disorders such as schizophrenia, mania and delusion disorder are also probably covers for engaging in evil thinking and behavior.

Psychiatry has transformed people to animal status; people are now seen as mere bodies and their thinking and behaviors are determined by their bodies and chemical balances in their brains. If they misbehave they are given medications to rebalance the supposed misbalanced chemicals in their brains.  Even though there is no evidence that people are healed by any of these medications yet psychiatry gets people to see themselves as mere animals who only need medications to change their behaviors.

Having accepted that people are mere animals psychiatry condones what people used to call inappropriate behaviors, such as the various deviances from heterosexual sex.  These days, every type of sexuality is seen as genetically produced and society is forced to approve it.

If this process of normalization of deviancy continues psychiatry would soon approve pedophilia (as due to genetic inheritance). When adults begin having sex with children and infants civilization collapses.

Psychiatry is on a fast track to destroying civilization. We must, therefore, take away from these clowns the ability to define appropriate human behavior and institute a regime of moral rearmament in people.

It is, therefore, time we returned to approaching people from a moral perspective and not just look at them from psychiatric and psychological perspective; psychiatry sees people as victims and takes responsibility for their behaviors away from them.

Psychiatry has had its one hundred years run and has no record of actually improving any one; it is now time that we returned to moral and religious approaches to people, for those are more realistic than the childish attempt to take responsibility away from human beings.

Donald Trump and other personality disordered persons are really evil persons; we cannot use the idea of mental disorder to make excuses for their evil.

Donald Trump needs to be removed from the White House because he is the embodiment of evil; he is not just a sick narcissistic personality disordered man but is a criminal; if he is not removed from office he could lead to the death of millions if not billions of non-white persons, as the other psychopathic narcissist, Adolf Hitler led.

In memory of Heather Heyer, I ask:

Ozodi Thomas Osuji

When I hear that a person has died I ask, what did he live for? I ask myself that question; I do not ask it of the dead or other persons.

The implication of my question is that each human being ought to be staying alive doing something; to stay alive just to stay alive, to me, is not enough.

If one stays alive just to be alive all that one is doing is eating food and dealing with one's medical issues until death does one a favor and takes one out. If one got to be alive one ought to be doing something that one deems socially important.

What is the something that the individual ought to be doing? Nobody can decide for another person what he should be doing. Only the individual knows what doing it he feels fully alive and not doing it he merely is surviving. It is not enough to just survive. One must be surviving for something.

Each of us has certain inherent aptitudes, certain trainings and certain interests; when the individual does what he likes doing and has an aptitude for doing he tends to feel alive.

Since we are also social beings, if the individual does what he likes doing that serves social interests, in one form or another, he tends to feel fully engaged.

So, what are you, the reader, doing that makes you feel that you are alive? As long as you are living for something you have reason to be alive but if not, well, you are like a living dead person.

Nature did not design us to be living dead persons. Nature did not design us to just survive, survive for what? It is fear of harm and death that makes us not live doing what we feel is socially important.

Over the weekend (August 11-13, 2017) white Neo-Nazis, white nationalists, white alt-right and assorted other white supremacists descended on Charlottesville, Virginia to demonstrate their desire to take their country back from nonwhite folks (the immediate cause of their demonstration is the proposal to remove the statue of a confederate general, Robert Lee, from the center of this lovely college town...University of Virginia).

These white supremacists are convinced that white folks are superior to other races and resent the presence of nonwhites in the USA. They want to get rid of all non-whites and or use them as slaves.  That is their goal. That is what life means for them: to get rid of some people and or use them as slaves. Their goal is very crystal clear.

Those who believe that all people are the same and coequal came to Charlottesville to counter demonstrate.  The counter demonstrators knew that the racists are armed and dangerous; indeed, many of those folks were carrying weapons so opposing them places one's life in danger. Yet, the opposition came and opposed them.

One twenty year old white racist, James Alex Fields, from Ohio, drove his car into an area where the opposition was milling around; he injured nineteen persons and killed a young white woman, Heather Heyer.

Heather died fighting for what she believed in. Even though she was only thirty two years old most human beings would say that she lived fully and died a hero's death.

It is good to live for a day and live for what one believes is right and die than to live a hundred years as a coward. The woman lived fully and died a hero of mankind. A hundred years from today people will be writing about her life and sacrifice.  If there is such a thing as heaven she is headed to it.

The question I ask you is what are you living for?

I lived to understand people; I have filled the world with literature on my understanding of human nature. Writing is a passive activity but nevertheless it is a worthy effort. What matters most, however, is living what I know is true. What do I know is true?

I know that all people are the same and coequal and ought to be loved and respected. Do I love and respect all people? If I do then I am living according to my light.

And, in as much as we are social beings, I must also be involved in the struggle for creating the type of society that serves our common good. If I was at the Charlottesville area on Saturday I would have been there demonstrating against the bloody racists. I would do so because I know that this country and the entire world belong to all of us, not just to this or that group. Clobbering me to death is irrelevant, what is relevant is living the truth as I know it.

My political ideology is social-democracy with mixed economy (a mix of capitalism and socialism, as in Scandinavia); I am for providing all people with a single payer health insurance; I am for providing all young people with publicly paid education through university level.

If I am fighting for these goals regardless of the danger to my life I feel alive but if I merely write about them and do not engage in social action to bring them into being, perhaps because I am afraid of harm to my body and self I am a coward. As a coward I have no reason to be alive other than the animal desire to be alive. If I am living for nothing I might as well not be alive.

As we all can see, in Nigeria and much of Africa people just live to be alive but do not actually stand up for something that they are fighting for. Most Nigerians and Africans are driven by fear; they are cowards who are afraid to stick out their necks for noble social causes. They live for nothing hence live miserable lives.

Because they are not living for causes greater than their puny lives I really do not give a damn whether Nigerians lived or died. If I heard that a Nigerian is dead I do not bat an eye, for, to me, he was not alive when he supposedly was alive; he was a living dead person. What difference does it make that a living dead person died?

If Nigerians wanted to live they would organize and get rid of corruption in their country; they would organize and establish a government that cared for all the people; they would create a business friendly environment that attracts investors and industries that provided people with jobs.

Instead of working for the collectivity Nigerians indulge in the cowardly criminal activity of kidnapping people and holding them hostage for monetary ransom. That is a selfish behavior.

Courageous and prosocial behavior is if the young Nigerian criminals organized and take over the Nigerian government and transformed it to serving all Nigerians.

Instead of doing these social serving and courageous things Nigerians steal the treasury dry and use stolen wealth to masquerade around as very important persons (I call them very important garbage). As I see it, most Nigerians are living for nothing and, as such, are not alive; I do not miss them if they died.

So, what are you living for?  This is the question that each of us must ask his self.

Unless you are living for something get the hell out of my sight! I do not want you around me; and don't ask me to do anything for you, for to me you do not deserve to be alive.

Why should I do something that enables you to keep your unproductive-self alive if you are not doing something that contributes to public good?

It is not for me to do something to help you stay alive just because you want to live in fear of the harm the rulers of this world could do to you if you challenge them. Challenge them and if they killed you, you are a hero of mankind and deserve the company of Heather Heyer in the heaven she is in.

Ozodi Thomas Osuji

August 15, 2017

(907) 310-8176

From Ozodi Osuji's Daily Journal:

When I was in graduate school I concluded that professors serve the powers that be in society and really are not critical of the status quo; if they criticize the gatekeepers of society they could lose their jobs or become marginalized. Thus, they keep quiet as their country and world burns.

It takes fearless, bold militants to go to the streets and mobilize to bring about social change (the society that I want is social democratic with mixed economy). Since professors do not do that I lost respect for them.

Nevertheless, I was trained for academia so occasionally I make halfhearted efforts to make it in academia. I would then have dreams that essentially tell me that I do not belong in academia. I belong in the world of action, where things are done, not Ivory tower where folks just talk and do nothing.  My dreams merely tell me what I already know about me and where I ought to be most useful.

The real question then is what does my mind want me to do, it cannot just be a negative force that tells me what not to do but what does it want me to do?

I actually know what I want to do. I want to invent a new thought system, a philosophy that would give mankind a better way of looking at phenomena. I do not want it rooted in the authority of religion or science but is self-evidently true.

I know what to do; I just haven't had the courage to boldly go do what I came to the world to do. I must do it or else nothing would work out well for me.

There is no one else to blame for my failure or success, for my bad or good; it is my mind that determines everything that I do and that other people do to me.

I am not a victim of the world; the world is my dream; I am responsible for the outcomes I get from life.

It is clear to me that I am very angry at the world for not rescuing me, doing anything to reduce my medical issues, leaving me in pain. I wanted to be helped, rescued and saved.

That underlying sense of anger at the world, especially at my significant others, my father and senior brother, is compounded when I feel that the world wants to use me to do something. During the Nigerian civil war I was angry at Ojukwu and Gowon for I felt that they wanted to use me to serve their ego needs. If I could I would have killed both of them for I asked: how dare they want to use me, what have they done for me?

My father had similar medical issues as I do and had a dependent need to be rescued by other people; needing rescue how could he rescue me? He felt overwhelmed by the world's demands on his body and wanted to retire and go rest but the problem was that his children were still young. From age fourteen he felt that I was a burden on him financially and felt that I needed to go away and relieve him of the need to pay my school fees.

I understand his issues. He could not help me for he needed help; he could not rescue me for the exigencies of his life made him seek rescuers.

There are no heroes out to rescue any one. What I need to do is overcome my medically induced desire for other people to rescue me and rescue myself, do for me whatever I need to do to survive and not depend on other people to do anything, good or bad for me.

I must finally become an adult man and take care of my business. This will affect my relationship with women for I would no longer treat them like they are my mother who ought to do something for me; I would do something for them and treat them as adult women; I would have them satisfy whatever  needs adult men desire from women and satisfy their needs from adult men (especially financially).

I must not look for other people's acceptance and approval of me; to ask for other people's acceptance and approval means that you are insulting you, for you must behave to seem as what you think that they would approve.

A sickly child needs his parents and other peoples acceptance and support to survive but an adult man does not need it; you do not need women to accept and love you for they are not your mother, so pleasing them to get them to love you is childish; you do not need men to love you for they are not your father; all you need do is accept you as you are, not as you think that you could become to be accepted by other people.

What all these mean is going from the psychology of a child to the psychology of an adult; this includes not seeking any religion's approval but merely living your life as you see fit.

I do not need Jesus or any other so-called religious authority to tell me who my real self is or what to do; I know who my real self is and know what to do with my life.

Generally, I am too quick to see the mistakes made by black folks, Africans, Nigerians and Igbos; in other words, mistakes made by people like me. I would then proceed to blame them. I also see the mistakes made by white folks but generally understand them without much criticism.

For example, I see white Americans reacting defensively to their perception that black and non-white folks are overwhelming them in numbers; I understand why they are afraid of foreigners. They believe themselves more advanced than other races and believe that if, say, there are too many Africans in America, given Africans backwardness in the world of science and technology, that their country would become backward. There is some truth to white fears for obviously Africans are less scientifically developed. In effect, I understand the source of white folk's fears.

On the other hand, I do not always make attempts to understand black folk's fears. I believe that this tendency to see what is wrong with black people and blame them is rooted in my desire to be modern, to be scientific and my association of backwardness with Africans.

I am terrified of being like Africans for to me they are primitive folks.  I want them to become modernized and scientific.

For me, the issue is not skin color for I could care less about a person's skin color but my association of backwardness with Africans. I simply do not want to be primitive.

Clearly, Western Europeans are way ahead of Africans in science and technology (I do not particularly care for Eastern Europeans for they are not scientific).

I understand the root of my quick criticism of black folks and toleration of white folk's egregious mistakes. It is however, not easy to change it since I fear what black folks represent, backwardness.

Nevertheless, I have to learn not to criticize black folks for their issues are actually very understandable.  I want a scientific culture and society; what I should do is work to transform black society to a scientific culture.

Please do not tell me to accept a non-scientific culture for that is not going to happen. My heroes are physicists, chemists and biologists, not superstitious folks.

In childhood, due to medical issues that made me feel not good enough, I posited an ideal self that I wanted to become and have been trying to become it. In pursuit of the ideal, powerful-self I tend to be inflexible and rigid.

I do not relate to people spontaneously.   I am always defending my desired ideal self and fearing relating from what seems to me a weak self. This way I am standoffish from people. Since, obviously, I know a lot people tend to see me as "a know it all", arrogant prick. Many persons resent my seeming haughtiness and pride.

I have superior intelligence; there is nothing that I can do about that. All I need to do is not look down on any one; I must be humble.

I have to learn to be open emotionally; I have to let go of all ego defenses, let go of the wish for ideal, superior self and simply relax and smell the roses.

I have to relate to all people as brothers and sisters and stop fleeing from them to go maintain my desired ideal self in social isolation. That is to say that I have to heal my avoidant cum dependent personality issues, my neurosis ala psychoanalysts.

I have to laugh more often; actually, when I smile and or laugh those around me like it a lot for it is a break from my usual somber, reflective mood.

Life is not such a serious business; we are born and will die so why take life too seriously. As Horace said, seize the day (carpe diem); do whatever you can today and do not worry about tomorrow, for the one thing that is certain about the future is that we shall all die.

I must see the world as an elaborate joke, a dream, really, and have fun of it. I must become a jolly philosopher, not the too serious philosopher that currently I am.

My real self is a spark of spiritual light that lives through my body and when that body dies it is liberated from the imprisonment of body, from darkness.

In this world I can remember the light that is in me and all people and love it. That light is love, so I can love all people.

Love for all does not mean giving things to other persons for to give to others assumes their lack of what you give to them; yes, each person has certain lacks, the solution to them is to help people to do things for themselves and not do anything for them under the misguided religious belief that you need to give things to people; no, you don't.

Our obligation is to provide for young people through college but after that each person is on his own, to swim or drown. As I see it, we must provide all people with a single payer health insurance and education through university but beyond those each person is on his own.

I am my own savior just as I was the one who condemned me  to  the ego and body and its suffering; my salvation comes from me just as my slavery came from me; the left (ego) or right (Holy Spirit)  minds are part of me.

No other person, no God, no Holy Spirit and no Jesus or Buddha can save me, only me can save me.

Enlightenment is recognizing the light that is already in me that is masked by my ego and body and living from it. Enlightenment does not come from outside me but from inside me.

Each of us came to the world of the ego, separation, darkness with a spark of God's light in him. We cover that light with the ego and can unmask it and live from it. Living from the light means living from love.

Enlightenment means loving me and loving all people, living from love, for our real self is love.

Love is giving; if you give you feel alive; if you do not give you do not feel alive; if you expect to get and not give you are suffering; suffering is receiving love without giving love to you and other persons.

The essence of love is giving without expecting anything in return. God is love; he gives to us and does not expect anything in return from us.

Our true nature is part of God, part of love so we must, like God, give without expectation of returns.

When you give to people and not expect anything from them you are living in joy and happiness.

My body does not like coffee, tea and sugar and other stimulants (it also does not like downers). Therefore, if I want to feel ok I must avoid caffeine etc. Like a fool every once in a while I still drink coffee; I should not do so. I do not touch alcohol or any kind of drugs.

To be enlightened is to live from the light of God that is already in one; that light self is ones real-self.  That light self is love, it loves one and all people and corrects one's harmful behaviors and helps other persons to correct their harmful behaviors.

I live from that light self, my real self and to the extent that I do so I am enlightened. I don't always live from it; occasionally, my overlearned dependent tendencies try to assert itself and if I catch it and immediately correct it I am back to peace and joy.

What are my life's goals? My goals are living from the light, living from my real self and living from love and helping people to do so.

Publishing my books on living from the loving self, publishing a monthly magazine called living from the loving self and organizing my center for mind science into a college is my life's mission.

As long as I do these things I have no financial and social lacks and I live in peace and happiness but if I deviate from them I live in conflict.

Ozodi Thomas Osuji

August 14, 2017

This is a follow up to the essay I wrote this morning on Igbos political naiveté. We must put our heads together and figure out a way to make Igbos politically realistic and get them to fight realistic political wars instead of wasting their times and energies on unrealistic causes, such as the struggle for Biafra.

Ozodi Thomas Osuji

During the US 2016 Presidential election many Igbos, both in Nigeria and in the diaspora, supported Donald J. Trump. They even had demonstrations all over Alaigbo supporting Trump!

I asked those close to me who supported Trump why they did it. They told me that Barack Obama is a Muslim and were in cahoots with Muslims in Northern Nigeria in oppressing Igbos; they said that Obama does not represent Igbos interests. They said that they believed that Hillary Clinton would continue Obama's supposed anti-Igbo policies.

In their view, Trump is a Christian and would fight for Igbo Christian interests.  I asked them whether apart from his alleged Christianity there is anything in his background that would lead a rational person to believe that he supports black folk's causes.

In 1972 he was sued by black folks who had tried to rent some of his apartments and he turned them down.

There is nothing in Trump's background that is not racist. Indeed, he came to political lime light by championing the racist Birther movement. That movement was fueled by white folk's anger that a black man was elected the President of the United States of America; it sought ways to delegitimize him and did so by claiming that he was born in Africa hence not qualified to be their President.

Trump made life difficult for Obama and one must be blind not to realize that he did what he did because of racism. The man rode racists' anger at Obama to the White House.

Honesty requires me to state that Trump's antimuslimism stood well with me. I even wrote an article agreeing with him on that score. As I see it, America and Europe must remain Christian and scientific. Muslims have a way of taking countries back to the feudal seventh century when Mohammed founded his religion.  I did not like Angela Merkle allowing over a million Syrian Muslims crashing into Germany.

Apart from seeing eye to eye with Trump on the Muslim issue I did not see anything else in him that would lead a black man to support him.

The man's antecedent behaviors tell us that he is a racist. His grandfather was an alleged Ku Klux Klan member.

Well, my Igbo brothers still supported the man. At Facebook they became his mouthpiece reposting all those fake news that Trump's supporters posted about Hillary Clinton. To them Hillary was the devil itself.

I took offense with some of these Igbos, such as Zubbie Ekwueme and Emenike Nwankwo. After trying to get them to see reason and they wouldn't I simply unfriended and blocked them. I blocked many Igbos posts at Facebook from reaching me.

I wish that I could block the posts of such Igbo idiots as Nebu Adiele and Daniel Akusobi from reaching my mail box. Those two Igbos lack critical reasoning; no university in this world would give them a bachelor's degree; I doubt that they even had secondary school education? They write like bush men!

Today, we see what is happening at the University of Virginia at Charlottesville (I have been to that campus; it is a lovely campus; it was designed and built by Thomas Jefferson...the campus is close to Jefferson's Monticello estate, his slave den).

The apparent cause of the problem is that some citizens demanded that a statue of Robert Lee, the commander in chief of the Confederate army, a racist army, be removed from their town.

David Duke and his KKK and other white supremacist groups opposed the removal of the statue. Things got to a head, yesterday, when white nationalists from several states came to the University to demonstrate their support for the continued stay of the said statue. They carried placards saying that they want to take America back (one presumes, from those they see as niggers).

The racists were confronted by a small group of "black lives matter" and other liberals. Apparently, the racist Neanderthals outnumbered the human beings opposing them and a scuffle ensued. People were beaten up.

A twenty year old racist from Ohio drove his car into a crowd of those opposing the racists; it is reported that he killed one young woman and injured nineteen others; a police helicopter crashed killing two police men bringing to a total of three dead and dozens hospitalized.

It is clear that these white supremacists were emboldened by the election of the racist in chief, Donald Trump. The election of this dumb shit has given racists signal to crawl out of their closets and make noise about taking back their country (never mind that African slaves built America and the interlopers from Europe want to reap where they did not sow).

Trump and two senators want to introduce legislation essentially accepting only immigrants who already speak English (this is a code term meaning those from Britain, Canada, Australia and New Zealand), and those who have skills that America desires (meaning computer skills, and certain rare medical skills and so on). They also want to reduce the legal immigration from its current 500, 000 a year to 250, 000 a year and abolish the Visa Lotto (annually, 50, 000) that had favored those countries that traditionally were underrepresented in America, such as Africans.

If you read between the lines you know that Trump wants to stop immigrants from Africa and other non-white countries. He would like to send Nigerians back to where they came from; he probably sees most Nigerians as corrupt and criminals.

Since many Igbos engage in 419 scams, bank loans scams, credit card scams, social security number thefts, and drug pushing (the number of Igbos in American jails  and prisons is high)there is no doubt that Trump would like to round them up and ship them back to the corruption haven they came from.

I am writing these observations not to engage in a comprehensive examination of Trump's racist government but to point out one more instance of Igbos poor political skills at work.

Most Africans saw Trump for what he is, a goddamned, freaking racist, a lying, psychopathic narcissist but many Igbos saw a savior in him.

My question is this: what is it about Igbos that they cannot read the tea leafs correctly? As we speak, they are supporting a megalomaniac called Nnamdi Kanu; they see him as their savior, indeed, some Igbos say that he is more important than Jesus Christ!

If that egotist is not quickly removed from the political limelight he would cause Igbos so much death that the death that occurred during civil war would be a child's play.

I do not understand how any thoughtful Igbo person would support Kanu. What does he stand for? Biafra? What is Biafra, a Portuguese village?

What is his reasoned political manifesto, a clearly articulated program he plans to put in place for Igbos? Has he written an outline of how his Biafra would be organized; I mean a sketched Biafra constitution?

And while at it, who is in his Biafra; is it only Igbos; does it include Ijaw, Efik, Edo, Itsekiri, Urhobo? Has he bothered to consult these people to find out if they want to go on the ride to death that he wants to take them or is he god and knows what is good for other persons?

Indeed, how does he even know that many Igbos support him? Having unemployed Igbo youth adore him does not mean that Igbo intelligentsia support him.

All Kanu has accomplished is, like other foolish Igbos, call Nigerians put down names. He calls Nigeria the zoo. If he had bothered to go to school and taken some biology classes he would have learned that human beings are animals and that animals live in zoos.

I understand that Mr. Kanu has not successfully completed any project he undertook and that he dropped out of college and has not held a reasonable job for extended time; I understand that the Casanova was supported by numerous girlfriends while he lived in London. In time he found a gig:  making radio broadcasts where he insulted any and all Nigerians.

Is this never do well man going to make Biafrans do well?

My question is this: what is it about Igbos that their political judgement is unrealistic?  I would like someone to educate me on this phenomenon. I am really, really sick and tired of been the only one pointing out Igbos apparent poor political skills.

Can other Igbos please join me; let us help our brothers lost in the wilderness of political never-never land? We must extricate Igbos from political magical thinking and teach them political realism. We must improve Igbos political judgment.

In America, we must teach Igbos to develop courage so that they stand with our African American brothers and fight racism; at present they are not anywhere to be found when black folks fight racist alt-right, neo-Nazis, white nationalists and other white supremacist groups.

At present they hide, may be seeking ways to make money; they allow other black folks to go fight racism and secure some benefits for black folks. Thereafter, they come out of hiding and try to reap the benefits other folks fought and died for.

People from Ghana generally join black Americans in fighting racism; I bet you that if you were at Charlottesville today, you would find Ghanaians among those fighting the alt-right racist Neanderthals; that is why African Americans hold Ghanaians in high esteem; their idea of visiting Africa is to go to Ghana, not Nigeria.

We must teach Igbos to fight the right wars and do it with political finesse; that is what it means to be real human beings.
