The son of God made the physical universe

Written by

John chapter 1:1-18 NIV

Ozodi Thomas Osuji

"1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was with God in the beginning. 3Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5The light shines in the darkness and the darkness have not overcome it.

6There was a man sent from God whose name was John. 7He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. 8He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.

9The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.

14The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

15(John testified concerning him. He cried out, saying, "This is the one I spoke about when I said, 'He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.' ") 16Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given. 17For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.

Let us see what the Gospel of John, Chapter one is saying. It says that in the beginning was the word, the word was with God and the word was God. Through the word all things were made.

What this is saying is that God has a son (the son is the word of God); that son of God was with God in the beginning. He has to be for only sonhood makes fatherhood.

If God is a father he must have a son. If there was ever a time that God did not have a son he was not a father hence not God. God is a father means that he has always had sons.

God's Godhood began with his fatherhood, began when he produced a son.

God created his son. God created his soon by extending his self to him.  There was never a time that God was not a father means that there was never a time that God was not creating sons. One God, right from the beginning, was creating sons. One God is always creating sons. One Self, God, has many sons; one force has many parts.

One wave of light has infinite particles of light in it. God is the wave of light; that wave of light has implicit in it infinite particles, photons of light, in it.

Wave, God, and particles, sons of God, have existed forever and ever for they are intrinsically one.

God is intrinsically linked to his sons and his sons are inextricably linked to him; one wave of light is intrinsically linked to its particles and they to it; you cannot separate wave from particles for they are one; you cannot separate God from his sons for they are one.

Without the one, father or son, wave or particles, the other cannot exist. One completes the other. God completes his sons; his sons complete him; without one part of the equation the other cannot exist; without the wave of light the particles of light cannot exist and without the particles of light the wave of light cannot exist. (Please review quantum physics to understand what I am talking about.)

God created his son. His son is a replica of God. God gave his son all of his self. The wave of light gives each particle of light all of itself, for the particle can behave like the wave of light; the wave is the particle and the particle is the wave.

God is the son and the son is God; they are the same force. If you like, they are like one coin; the head of the coin is God and the tail is the son of God.

The relevant point is that both head and tail coexist as one and have done so from the beginning (there is no beginning).

God is creative and gave his son the ability to create. Thus, the son of God creates his own sons, who, in turn, create their own sons.

Creation begins from God to his son and sons of the sons of God; creation has no beginning and no end. God and his sons are forever and ever creating other sons of God.

In human analogy, your parents created you and you create your own children who will create their own children, ad infinitum.

"Through him all things were made" means that through the son of God all other sons of God were created.

"In him is life." That is, in the son of God is life.  "And that life is the light of all mankind." This means that God is light; this is literal not figurative.

God is spiritual light. God is the wave of spiritual light; he has particles of light; wave and particles are one light; they are inseparable.

Life is light and light is life. God is life and light; the son of God is life and light.

"Light shines in darkness and darkness has not overcome it." To follow the story, I must provide a story of how our physical universe came into being.  Our physical universe is darkness.

God is life and light.  God, life and light extended to his son who extends to his own sons. God and his sons are life-light.

The sons of God were created by God; they are the extensions of God; they are the projections of God.

One light expands to infinite particles of light.  God, wave of light, and his sons, particles of light, are the same. The only difference between them is that God created his sons and his sons did not create him.

This one difference between the father and the sons annoyed the sons. The sons of God wanted to reverse the order of creation and create God instead of God creating them. They have already been created and cannot create God.

So, what did they do? They, as it were, closed their spiritual eyes and tuned out the light that is their father, a light that is everywhere (a single particle of light is still in each of them, as their light self, their real self but in their closed eyes they see darkness all-around them).

We closed our spiritual eyes, except the particles of light, God, in us and see darkness in our closed eyes.  We see darkness everywhere we look but that darkness did not eradicate the light in us.

Darkness has not overcome light; this is literal and metaphorical; it is metaphorical if you see light as truth and lie as darkness; lies, that is, separation, have not overcome the truth of our oneness.

We, the sons of God, wished to create God and could not do so and went to sleep and in our sleep dream our physical universe.

The physical universe came into being as an act of rebellion against God; as such, it will end when we end our rebellion and accept God's fatherhood; obey the will of God; accept union and give up our wish for separated existence.

We invented the physical universe. We made it in darkness (space is dark).  We made it with the light of God in us.

The spark of God-life-light in us is creative; we used it to miscreate the physical universe of galaxies, stars, planets, plants, animals and our physical bodies. We, the sons of God, with the God in us, the light of God in us, and the life in us invented our physical universe.

Since we invented the physical universe in our sleep it is a dream universe; it is not real. Our physical universe is a dream in our minds (consider that at night you sleep and project out a world that seems real but an unreal world).

A dream is used to mask the real world. The real world is the world that God created; the real world is spiritual light with infinite particles of spiritual light in it.

We, on earth, are in darkness. We live in darkness, in dreams of self-forgetfulness and separation.

In this darkness, dream, God sends his Holy Spirit to come and inform us of his light. The Holy Spirit operates through the messengers of God and through us.

God sent John, a messenger of God, to talk to us about the light that is God. John said that he is not the son of God and that the son of God is coming to the world after him. The son of God is Jesus Christ (and all of us in our true self).

John was still sleeping and dreaming; he was an ego of love but had not awakened to his true self as the son of God.

Jesus awakened to his true self as the son of God hence is the symbolic son of God, the embodiment of the Holy Spirit; the God made man that is greater than John, ego that is coming to awaken us from our sleep and dream.

Although the world of darkness was made by the son of God (in his dream) that world did not recognize him when he is awake; when he returned to it as the real son of God, love-light.

Yet all that receive Jesus Christ, the son of God will return to the light of God and return to their spiritual status as the children of God.

"The word became flesh and dwelt among us. This means that Jesus Christ was born in body and lives with the sons of God in flesh, on earth.  He came from the father to awaken his sleeping brethren, the separated ones, egos, us to our unified spiritual reality.

John saw Jesus Christ and cried out that he is the one he had been talking about who is coming to save mankind, to return mankind to the awareness of God in us.

"Moses gave us law but Jesus gave us grace." This means that Mosaic Law dealt with the sins of mankind, punished evil persons; that had to be done to maintain social order in a world where folks were pursuing their self-interests and did hurt one another.

Jesus Christ, on the other hand, brought God's grace to us. Grace means giving something to someone without asking him to merit it.

God is love. God loves all his children. He does not demand that they do anything to merit his love; however, they must return to the awareness of their true self, love and light.

If we return to the awareness of life and light, love, we have received God's grace, a grace that is always there but we tune it out while dreaming scarcity in the world of God's abundance.

No human being, no son of God in sleep dream of separation, in darkness, has seen God. But the son of God that is awake, Jesus Christ, who is one with God, knows God. He has brought the knowledge of God to his sleeping and dreaming brethren.

Through Jesus Christ God is made known to us in the dream of separation.

As John's Gospel said in chapter fourteen, where you see the son of God you see God; where you see Jesus you see God; for God is not apart from his son.  You cannot see God outside his son. For us to see God we have to see him in each other.

Let me recapitulate what, so far, I have said. God created his sons, us. God is the wave of light in which we are particles of light. We and God coexist eternally. At some point, a point that has not occurred (the world does not exist except as a dream) we resented that God created us and wanted to create God and create ourselves.

We went to sleep and forgot our true identity as the sons of God. In our sleeping minds is a spark of light, a particle of spiritual light; with it we invented the galaxies, stars, planets, animals and trees, everything in the universe.  We used the light of God in us to invent everything in the universe.

If you know a bit of physics and chemistry you know that during the Big Bang a point of light came out from nowhere (from God), exploded, that is, separated its inherent parts into the multiplicity of being; the separated spiritual lights transformed to particles, photons of physical light; and those to quarks, and quarks transformed themselves to protons and neutrons; light also transformed itself to electrons.

Protons and neutrons combined into nuclei. Nuclei captured electrons and atoms were formed.

Out of atoms stars were formed. Out of exploded stars (supernova) planets and human beings, animals and plants were formed.

The point here is that everything in the physical universe was made from the light that came during the big bang; everything is made with the light of God in us.

Look at your body, wall, desk, computer, the entire physical universe, they were all made from light; if you purify your eyes, your seeing,  you will still see them as pure spiritual light.

For now the point that I have made is that we, the sons of God, who is the one son of God invented the physical universe.

This is the point that John was making in his gospel chapter one. God created his son (us); he and his son lives together; the son of God became insane (our physical world is literally a hallucination and delusion for it does not exist yet we see it) and invented our physical universe.

God created the Holy Spirit to go remind his sons that they are always one with him. The Holy Spirit manifested on earth as the prophets and messengers of God.

We did not listen to the prophets of God. Finally, one son of God came to the world as an awake son of God; he was aware of his nature as the son of God who is one with God.

Jesus became the son of God made manifest in the world of darkness and taught us that we are at present separated egos, hence insane, and that our true self is the son of God.

We can find out if we are the son of God by loving God and all of us. Love God and love all people and forgive those who wronged you and you become aware that your true self is the son of God.

Our true self is love; to find out what that true self is we must love all creation and its creator, God.

Most extant religions say that God created the physical universe.  This is not true. God created us but we are the ones who invented the physical universe. This is the truth; when you are ready to accept it you will do so but until then you will continue deluding yourself with the fiction that a loving father could create a world meant to die. Only an insane person could have invented our world.

The physical universe could not have been made by a loving God. The physical universe could only have been invented by an insane God. Only a mad man would take the trouble to invent a complex universe that we know will die.

We know from astrophysics and cosmology that our universe came into being during the Big Bang, 13.8 billion years ago and is expanding and eventually will lose heat (entropy) and die. In a couple trillion years the galaxies would have over expanded away from each other and the universe would lose heat and become too cold and stars would die and everything in the universe dies.

The stars and planets would explode and return to atoms; atoms would decay to electrons and nuclei; nuclei would decay to protons and neutrons. Eventually, all the particles would decay to photons. Thus the universe would become a cold place, with cold particles of light in it; for light is eternal and cannot be destroyed.

We really do not have to go as far as talking about the entire universe to know that death is designed into the frame of the universe. Our lives are perfect examples. From the moment that we are born we begin dying. Give or take, 120 years a human being's body dies. In effect, we are born to die.

Whoever created human beings to die is an insane person. A sane person cannot create people and the universe to die.

The son of God like God is eternal. They are eternal in their unified spirit state. Only the non-material, the spiritual can be unified.

In spirit we are unified with each other and with God. In fact, there is only oneself, the unified sprit. That one unified self is God and his sons sharing one self and one mind; one wave of light with infinite particles of light in it; wave and particles constitute light energy.

We live eternally in unified spirit state (aka God and his heaven). But while in it an insane idea that it is possible for us to separate from each other and from God entered our minds.

We cannot separate from God and each other. Still wishing separation we, as it were, went to sleep and in our sleep dream the physical universe of separation.

Our world is made by us; it is made out of insanity and is an insane world.

To return to sanity, we have to give up the wish to create God and ourselves and return to the fact that God created us and accept the eternal union of God and his sons.

Union is love (love is the glue that glues everything together). Love God (the whole) and the sons of God (parts of the whole).

God is love so love God and all his sons and you awaken to the awareness of our unified state.

Love returns us to sanity. In fact, love is sanity, whereas hate is insanity. Union is sanity and separation is insanity.

The world of separation was made to oppose the world of union; that is, the physical universe came into being in opposition to union, God and love.

The world is an unloving place. We must return to love to return to the awareness of the God in us.

God is always in in us; he is the glimmer of light in us; the spark of light with which we make everything we make on earth.

It is difficult for us to accept that we invented this universe but, sooner or later, we shall accept it. Denying responsibility for the insane world we made and attributing it to God is the height of ego arrogance.

Only an insane person could have invented our physical universe. The ego is insane and made our world.

God is sane and could not have made our world. God created us as unified with him but we made the separated world.

God created another self, the Holy Spirit and tasked him to go tell his separated sons that they are still one with him and ask them to discard the wish for separation and return to the awareness of union with him and with each other.

The God in the temporal universe, the Holy Spirit, does not force us to give up the world we made in opposition to God but asks us to first make it lovely by loving each other and later on give it up and return to the awareness of union with God.

Salvation begins on earth when we use our bodies to love other sons of God in bodies. From this stage we proceed to the world of light forms; the world of light forms is a world in which we are all made of pure light.

Finally we return to our true home, what religious folks call heaven. Heaven is a wave of formless light in which each of us is a particle of that light.

Jesus was the first person who realized that he, the son of God, invented the physical universe and gave up that insane world and returned to the awareness of his oneness with God and all of us.

In doing so Jesus reclaimed his status as the son of God; he is reborn in God; each of us must do what he did.

During this Christmas season each of us ought to allow the son of God, Christ, to be reborn in him (Christ was first born in us when Gad created us; we metaphorically died when we denied union and live as separated egos).

When we return to love, to union with all we are reborn in God. In rebirth in God, that is, acceptance of union and love for all of us, we are saved from the insanity of the ego separated existence.

Post Script

My above interpretation is in accord with A course in miracles' interpretation of the mission of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the perfect manifestation of the Holy Spirit in the temporal universe. Folks like me are struggling to become perfect manifestations of the Holy Spirit. We are the students of the Holy Spirit; Jesus Christ is the Holy Spirit's star student.

Since Jesus Christ perfectly manifests the Holy Spirit, the God in the temporal universe, you can see him as the son of God who is one with God and ask him to guide you.

You can also ask the Holy Spirit to guide you. No one comes to God except through his son, Jesus Christ and the other sons of God who let themselves to be guided by the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is the guide to our return to God, to the state of union with all existence, to peace and joy, bliss.
